He doesn't seem to be around!
I think this system is hiding something from me.
[Does a bit of unfeasibly fast typing/button pressing.]
Apparently he's not in any part of the base which has cameras in it... though the thermal scans indicate a residual image somewhere to your left, which isn't accounted for by any of the guards in the chamber with you... 
[Checks AIHP.]
How curious! There's a tunnel there... though you'll need to open it. It's been sealed off anyway, so perhaps you can find a way through? There ought to be a metaplasm gun around or something, this is an evil lair after all.

Oh, sorry - that might have been Reefgirl's residuals...
In fact, there are two thermal signatures. Looks like Reefgirl was way ahead of us!
