If you ever find out the trick to beating the Aussies, please let me know
I notice that Gladly (the author) has not posted here since Sept 29th...

Pity... this entry is almost ready to go. It really just needs the diagram from the author's personal space, I think.

How to beat the Aussies?? 'snot possible!! That said, Steve Waugh's out and Shane Warne's busted his shoulder (or some other part of his body crucial to the game ), so there may well be a chance...

Maybe not recently Cafram, but don't get too cocky (ooh, a cockatiel smiley?) pride cometh before a fall
I've seen Oz lose# and it will happen again, one day
# Alan Borders XI v Viv Richards XI, 1989, MCG, (by 285 runs I think) whilst we were waving our Jamaican flags in solidarity with the *allies*

1989?!
Truth be told I've never watched a match, and I only know stuff that's been on as a newsbreak or on the front page of the paper

Hey, they have lost since then you know
Or was 1989 simply a particularly funny year for you?
I'm aware that the topic drift is dominating this thread, perhaps we should adjourn to F99636?thread=220420&latest=1 which is attached to the entry itself

Having read the backlog, do I understand correctly that there's more work to be done here? It'll be a FM case by tomorrow

I think it's almost ready and if I knew anything about cricket, I'd try to finish it. It looks like it really only needs the table showing the player positions that's in the author's personal space.

If that's all it needs, couldn't you just pick this and attach a note to the Sub-Ed for them to lift the table on the author's PS and put it into the entry?

It may also need some re-wording to make it less tongue-in-cheek and more informative. As it stands it's a great entry, but confusing to people who are actually trying to find out about the game - depends on whether you want it to end up useful or funny!!

I don't know, if you could make it any clearer, with all the in & out business.
But I CAN say, that reading it being a german art major without the foggiest about cricket, it's amazingly enlightening- I almost got it, I 'm sure the rest would fall into place if I ever actually watched a game
