I've created my Yahoo account and I'm applying tothe H2G2 community artists group. Anything in particular I need to put in the box about why I want to join?

Right I've joined the group, got the two emails etc and that's where I start to get confused... I thought the whole point of the yahoo group was that you didn't need a ftp program? So how do I upload the blobs?

You go to the Files section of the group. There's a folder called Edited Guide, and that's where you upload your blob. Don't forget to send the group an e-mail announcing that you've done so!

You'll also want to look through the messages in there; I wrote a summary for you of recent activity in the group, but apparently sent it before you managed to join If you can't find it, mail the group and I'll forward it to you

Oh, right, tablets. I've been wanting to try one, but the decent ones are a bit out of my budget.

I usually use photoshop to colour (with a mouse) but I do the line art by hand - first in pencil and then inked with a dip pen. I have a good scanner.

Likewise, I'd love a graphics tablet but I don't have one. I draw it out, scan it and colour it in Gimp or Photoshop (depending on what computer I'm using).

I would still use that way a lot if I had a tablet, I think, but it would definitely be handy for making little changes to the scanned lineart. As it is, for any big changes I want to make it's better to do it on paper and rescan.
