Apparently no researchers have been hurt, although some had to suffer the indignity of getting on a bus.

Just walked past. The police say it is "under control" but that is all they said

As far as I know it happened near Chancery lane, where we walked. Did anyone jump to high or dropped something?

Panic not. Just a derailment, not a crash per sec. Plenty of shaken up folks, but no serious injuires. From the sounds of the reports, I suspect a bolt sheared on the undercarriage, allowing part of the ngine to hit the track. That's just a best guess though.

My dad nearly caught the tube, but decided to walk for a bit and then get the bus. Lucky him...

It was derailed coming in to Chancery Lane eastbounds - thank goodness to the best of our knowledge everyone is safe.

The reports I've had from Roger Ford suggest that the worse injures were cuts to the face from breaking glass. Very unusual, that sort of mechcanical failure on the London Underground.

No there were broken legs too. Peregrin and I were supposed to be on that train but as usual we were late which was quite lucky this time! We turned up just as fire engines were arriving nasty by the looks, the tube officials just told us it was an incident which immediately paniced everyone!

I think it was Westbound Abi!
If it had been Eastbound then it was the exact train which I caught from Hyde Park as I embarked at Holborn Station about 5 mins to 2 and arrived at the Shakespeare at 1 minute to 2!
Mind you - thinking about it, the train I caught earlier going to Hyde Park was making rather alarming noises and I remember a fellow traveller and I commenting on same. It was doing far more than the usual clanking and creaking and was swaying quite a bit.

I spoke to someone who was actually on that train, when I was on the way back to Ipswich.
He was lucky, because he was towards the front of the train. Apparently it was the last three carriages which came off the track, and because it was packed - due to both a delay between trains and engineering works on the circle line - there were a lot of people standing.
Apparently about 30 people got taken to hospital, but none were kept in. What a nightmare, but thank God it wasn't any worse.

I was trying to find Shazz at Hyde Park but couldn't so I rang Mina who passed her mobile to Abi who told me to walk to Marble Arch and catch the Central Line to Holborn.
I bought a ticket which is timed at 13.59pm.
I can't believe the crash happened between your train and mine, Shazz.

It even made the Dutch papers with a few lines. From it I got the impression the train for once did not mind the gap and hit the platform
