Wow! Thanks for the promotion General! I never thought getting promoted would be so easy! Perhaps you ought to make the promotion a little harder, not that I'm not ungrateful or anything, believe me this is a true honour, but otherwise within a few weeks everyone in the Terranic Army will have become Brigadiers or even Generals! By the way, thanks for considering about the FMTO(s).

Why are we fighting a war with grenades, land mines and trenches and that sort of thing? Come on! This is the 21st century, not World War 1! Why not fight with laser guns, heat-seeking missiles, guns that discharge a deadly electric charge and rocket launchers? Use post-modern weapons!
If you like, I will talk with the Weapons Lab and help you design such weapons. And what do our enemies look like? Can anyone draw one of our enemies.

Once all the most important positions have been filled, it should be become more difficult to get promoted, and I will need to start promoting from private to Corporal...etc. But as I needed an officer for your position I had little choice.
Oh and this is to anyone in general, when we have sorted out the base I think it might be a good idea to get all the armies on h2g2 together, and start arranging some war games.

Oh and any future promotions I think need to be discussed, so maybe we need a commitee or something. Suggestions?

i think the decision should be made after the senior officers (ie me, u and rimmer) have discussed the promotion. we can discuss this in the senior officers quarters.

Terran Posted Sep 11, 2002
Either the Senior officers quarters or the promotion discussion room would do I think. But yes I agree Rimmer, You and Myself are probably the best people to make the decisions refering to promotion. I hence have removed my power to promote anyone without discusion between the three of us first.

well, since the war begins at midday saturday GMT time, i think we'd better begin to prepare our battle tactics. any thoughts?

CYBERHUMAN Posted Sep 13, 2002
I can help you work out the battle tactics if you like. I have a good idea of how to surprise or ambush the enemy. Tell me what you think.

the laser failed a few early tests, however, i think that we can get one shot out of the laser before it stops working, so if u want to use it, i advise u have a worthwhile target to use it on.

I take it you're reffering to the Laser Gun that I mentioned? The Laser Gun looks like a shotgun only it shoots out a high-intensity laser beam that can burn through armoured bodies easily. However, the Laser Gun needs to be recharged frequently, but it does have a long range. It could be used as a weapon for emergency situations. General Terran *stands stiffly to attention*, could I join the weapons lab and work on weapons like this? ,scientist>

Spook Corp. are the ones who supply the weapons. If its alright with Spook Corp., then I can't see any problems.

that laser hasn't been created yet. the laser i am referring to is the one the spook corp have been working on recently. a prototype has been created which the terranic army will be able to use.

Of course we need a map. How can we work out proper battle tactics and manouveres without one? I think you ought to ask Brigadier Spook about it though.

Hello
I believe that you are thinking of dividing into regiments?
How about dividing into 'toons'. Toons are smaller, more tight knit groups that are more maneuverable as an army, and more adaptable to change.
Just a suggestion....

I agree. An army prepared for battle already has an advantage over the enemy, especially if the enemy is not ready when the fighting starts. An army survives on a three 'S' code: Speed, Surprise and Survival (of course!)
