I am impressed! But as you said, it is 'a work in progress' ..and only fools and generals judge unfinished work.
That said, I'm still impressed.
Researching and posting the links alone must have taken you forever.
Thanks for the gypsy paragraph (my paternal great granny was Roma).
Thanks for sticking up for the Palestinians and expressing incredulity at Isreali policies.
Thanks for pointing out that Canada is now number 9 in GNP and therefore, by definition , no longer really entitled to be a memeber of the G-"8". We are currently hosting the first 'peaceful' G8 summit in a very long time, so it probably doesn't make the News.
If you aren't planning on having your entry savaged by the Peer Review process I'd be happy to offer some proof reading skills to a more finished entry - but being neither fool nor general, I'll make no comment now on several typos I've spotted. And when it's ready for the world to see, <./>AGGGAG</.> will be pleased to promote it in our Post column complete with all its wonderfully witty breaches of the Official Writing Guidelines.
peace

Thanks for that. I've not had a chance to work on it much recently as i've been in hospital, so it's been a bit neglected. Any proof reading is welcomed, as are any other suggestions.
And to be honest, i've never read the official writing guidlines.

>> i've been in hospital <<
Being an optimist by nature, when I hear those words I will always assume that all is fine now, things are better, that health has been restored. It would be distressing to hear otherwise so I cannot allow you the opportunity to further distress me.
This means I also quite naturally (and yet consciously and deliberately) avoid any of the usual polite queries that are meant suggest a compassionate interest in your physical well being. As this may seem an apparent want of manners on my part, please allow me to construe some ackward pleasantry such as "Geez, glad ya didn't die then...!"
And here's me thinking you'd just grown weary of us all!
