*somehow failing to notice ena's weiriness*

say, can i ask whereabouts you gus are going? its just that if it's on the way, there's a town near where we were that currently holds a treasure hunting target of mine that i daresay would be very useful for any trial we may face

*turning around, inter notices ena's paleness*

are you ok?

*suddenly inter had a flashback, he remembers his granfather weilding an ornate black sword and watching in awe as he effortlessly slices through an enormous boulder, his grandfather explained that the sword was one of 13 legendary weapons made of an ancient, almost indistructable metal called oricalcium. a little known fact about which is that it contains and amplifies magic lightning, meaning that in the hands of a lightning mage, they are even more powerful than when they were weilded by their original, legendary owners*

*inter explains this to the others*

the artifact in the town is an oricalcium pistol, weilded by the assassin know as "black cat" hundreds of years ago, theoretically, with that pistol i would be able to do devestating damage (although the technique can be used very few times per day, as it drains the users magic power)

of course, oricalcium doesnt create power (because that impossible) but it drains the power of the mage holding it, like pulling the plug in a sink and draining the water, in my case i'd likely only be able to use it once a day, after which i would pass out

*again noticing ena's weariness*

are you sure you're ok? cos i think i have some energy potion around here somewhere

*starts rummaging through pockets*

failing that you can have one of my apples if you like

*wraps an arm around Ena, supporting her as lil lowers her onto the sand*

Nevermind your apples! Find her some decent drinking water!


*removing her dirty leather coat, lil places over Ena*

right! will do!

*runs off away from beach will canteens*

*quickly returns with canteens full of water*

here you go! and here's that potion if you're interested

*throws lil a small phial filled with pale, yellow liquid*

*watches with concern wishing she knew what to do*

*looks at the phial dubiously*

You'd better be certainly about this.....


*opens the phial and begins to gently pour the liquid into Ena's mouth*

*coughs as the potion goes into her mouth, curling into a ball beneath the coat*

Ah...

Ena?

Are you okay?

Fine... really.

*She looks anything but fine as she sits up, getting unsteadily to her feet.*

*gently pushes Ena back onto the sand*

You just rest for a moment, and tell us why we are here....

*lil looks around, taking in the surroundings*

*She can't really fight as she's pushed back*

We're here... because it's the Eastern-most point of the Kingdom.

*sigh*

I can see that... but why?

*confused*

what does that mean?

Because the further East we go, the safer we are.

*She glances over at Inter warily*

It's nothing to be concerned over.

*looks at lil*

if it wasnt the portal, you dont suppose it's some kind of interferance in the area that's causing ena's affliction? cos if it's something constant like that, then an energy potion wont do much good
