Exciting Times

Ever since the announcement and launch of the Read Only Beta Version of the new h2g2 design, there have been lots of conversations. Most of it was feedback, a lot of which points out things that don't work or may cause problems - it is hard to tell because we can only read, not actually use it. Naturally, this distracted people, so it was quieter in and around the Post than usual. However, we have a surprise for you, too: the eds have lovingly designed a new h2g2 Post logo to fit in with the new design, the small version of which you'll probably have spotted at the top of today's issue. You can copy the following code and try it in your own page to see it in all its splendour:

It is your h2g2 Post, so we'd like you to create an A page with your suggestions how best to integrate the shiny new logo in the future Post. To know how it is (currently) structured, take a look at test75157996. Please bear in mind, though, that once the new design is fully launched we'll only have about half the width we have now, see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/beta/entry/A75157996. Remove the Editorial, write your own, or explain your idea in a few sentences (optional). Put links to articles of your choice if you want, it doesn't matter. Important is the layout. It would be great if you posted a link to your test page with your suggestion at the bottom of this page.

Today, we welcome yet another writer with her first article in the Post. Magwitch replied to a fun challenge in the Alternative Writing Workshop. Why don't you pop over there and join the fun? Don't get too distracted, though, as our Birthday Issue on 6th December is approaching fast, and we'd really like to make it special, as is the tradition. So don't forget that any graphics you'd like to submit should be with us no later than Tuesday, 30th November so we can send them to the eds for blobbing. Get working!
