Welcome to P.U.D.D.I.N.G., Shhhh2!
'Grumpy Old Men', as mentioned on your Personal Space, was a work of true philosophical genius. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/articles/g/grumpyoldmen_999031010.shtml for some details and some rather good clips.

Just don't bug me. I like being depressed. Live with it or go away. I hate happy, smiling, perky, people. Especially morning people. They make me sick!
(so can I be a member?)

Welcome on board, Mr. Cyde.
I own a badge that reads: '"Not a morning person" doesn't even begin to cover it'.

I think I am just a deep thinker. Perhaps a little introverted. Self Centred or focused. So in this state I can hardly think about what expression I should have. I was once accused of having a pensive look upon my face. There again the teacher was always telling me to wipe the smirk off my face. I may have been getting around with a smirk to this day if it was not for this unwarranted piece of discipline.
Perhaps in this age of arrogance and self imagery it is important to make people believe you are truly happy by wearing a smile. There again I have heard it said that if you put in the actions the mind follows. Moreover, I have always wondered why it is that people give me "funny looks". Maybe its a reflection of myself.

I hate people, that's why I hate school. That and homework. They can make me go to that big gray building and they can try to make me learn. But when they start impinging on my home time. THEY'VE GONE TOO FAR.

Bought a new set of blades for my flymo yesterday, and every single one of them has broken while I was mowing my back lawn

I believe we all have a religion of some sort. Surely a belief in Star Trek is a form of religion. A great many Rock stars have taken over the role of christ over the years and not always with such a terrific message. Kurt Cobain? Any member of the Stones. Name any era. The list is endless. All too Hedonistic for me. The big question for me is how I can live within my own moral code and be of help to others. Too many people feel they have the solution to the worlds problems. Quite frequently that entails judging others and pulling them down to build ourselves up. All well and good but are we talking or taking action. Politicians are the easiest target of all. How many of us are demanding more of our Governments (more money for...... !) but then are not willing to contribute extra money. Everyone votes for the party that will not raise the taxes. People want more for less. When I look at the rules that govern our society, even though I am not a Christian, I can see the value in everything that that man taught. How many people give with true humility ( ie get on with it without having to let the whole world know what they are doing). Everyone wants to be a star. Thats sooo self centred. How many people truly know what poverty is in our society? "My God the mortgage on my house and the food on the table means I can't afford to buy a car". Greed? How many people need to boast about themselves and their achievements? Pride? Is western society not suffering from an epidemic of obesity and drug addiction? Gluttony? I cannot change the world with these words. I am no philosopher or prophet. But I know my place in the world. A part of that is the understanding that I do not know who my creator is. The human brain is the most complex organism known to man. Did it really crawl out of a tree or swamp? You see its not what I know about this but its an understanding that I will probably never know.Just like the other 4 (?)billion occupants. Strange to think that in just over 100yrs time the entire population of the planet as it is today will be dead. Now thats a sobering thought.

Don't know about you, but I reckon the last of the above's observations is the comforting thought.
Its the wondering if anyone'll have learnt anything : thats the sobering one
