Just a word of warning.

Generally, this is a very friendly and happy thread, but in the last few days we've had a series of complaints from various people about its tone. We believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether it's pro- or anti-religion. However, we do not feel it's appropriate to bait other people by making deliberately provocative statements designed to cause offence. Nor do we think it's fair to silence (politely-phrased) opposing views by trying to get them removed by the Moderators.

We've locked this thread to allow us to review some of the postings made in the last few days and to give everyone time to cool down. Perhaps the thread owner would like to email us at the h2g2.feedback address tomorrow to ask for the thread to be unlocked.
