Nyree Rose - Doll in a Tube wearing National Costume

I have always wanted to go back in time to around 1880. I'd love to see where I live and what it must have looked like without all the pylons and tarmac.
Also just to experience a world without cars!!How nice!Everyone can walk on the road, only moving occasionally for a pony and trap to go by.
To see the sky without Light Pollution. Now that would be something!

Oh Yes! We are in a small valley where I'm sure the smoke would hang around. Smelly bleachworks, dusty looms, furniture making(see my entry on Lochwinnoch for details!)
But I'd still want to go!
OH!
As long as I didn't have to be POOR!

smiley - biggrin There's the rub. Pretty much any period would be good if you're rich and influential.

There's various events and people it would be good to see (e.g. events: The Mediterranean filling up - if that's still the current theory or maybe Jarvis Cocker upstaging Michael Jackson at the Brit awards. People: H. G. Wells or Jesus Christ), but I can't really think of another period I'd like to live in. Perhaps I'm just a 20th century boy.

I didn't see the event either, that's why it'd be great to go back and get a seat in the audience. Videocamera at the ready.

Ah, c'mon a nice fish supper on the beach? Who could resist? Good wine as well.

Yeah...OK...i'll give you that. I do believe that he existed and that he was probably a good man in some respects but.....

*stops, before I say something I regret*smiley - winkeye

Actually after last night I'd like to go back to the few seconds before I feel off my stool, on stage in a pub, and stand up to readjust my pile of precariously balanced cushions I was sat upon!!smiley - blush

Sad thing was, it got one of the biggest responses from the audience!!Sniff sniff...

Ah go on. Say something you'll regret.

Aw, sad story. What do you do on stage, by the way?

*doesn't start weird conversation about whether changing history is possible*

I am in a ceilidh band. I play congas, snare and various other strange percussion.

(i'm an atheist.....Oh...I didn't say that!!!)

smiley - winkeye

Also in a samba band and have been for eight years now. Just myself, my family and friends. It taken us to many locations throughout Britian and Ireland in cluding St Patricks Day parade in Ireland and playing at all last years major athletic events in UK. Its great fun and all the athletes know our faces.
Last year me and my brother ran a lap at Crystal Palace in London after the TV cameras were off.
Not as fit as I used to be.smiley - puffsmiley - run

smiley - coolsmiley - musicalnote Sounds a nice job, even if you do occasionally fall off cushions.

I'm still refusing to join the conversation, because basically anything we say is completely uninformed speculation. smiley - tongueout

The Wizard of Brighton Pier

I'd like to go back to about 1961, having learned all the Beatles' song catalogue on my guitar, and audition for the Quarrymen. Just think, you could go up to Paul McCartney and say, "I've got this great idea for a song - it's called 'Yesterday...'"

Whaddaya mean "abusing time travel for personal gain...?" smiley - smiley

...or placing bets on wildly improbable teams/players/horses winning some game/match/race, which brings us nicely back to the point that ANY era is a good one if you've got the cash to make it so.
