A Conversation for Talking Point: Time Travel
What I would do if I could time travel....

I used to want to go back in time to about 2 years ago so I could do some things differently with my life...take a few more risks and chances, but also prevent mistakes from happening...now I'm not so sure I would do that, seeing as how I think I've benefited from having made those mistakes.
But something I've always wanted to learn about through time travel is
a) learn about the ancient past: learn about the mysteries of how humans evolved, their growing cultures and societies etc. As well, I'm sorry, but none of the theories out there have ever really satisfied my curiosity: I want to know EXACTLY how the dinosaurs died. Also, I'd like to learn just how life started on Earth....probably just a few well-placed meteors hitting the planet, but still. It would be interesting.
b) learn about the distant future: I want to know if and how far we advance in technology, if we'll ever successfully travel through space, if everybody has microchips in their heads, or if we're genetic snobs like in that movie Gattaca. I'd want to know if we'll all die out in a few thousand years because we're just plain stupid, and if we ever make contact with alien life forms (other than ALF, that is). I also want to rest assured that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake won't stand the test of time, but that Mozart and the Bealtes will.
And that is what I would do if I could time travel.

I don't know about you, but I would like to go back in time and sail on the first ship to 'discover' America.
For people of the Old World, this must have been like travelling to the other side of the universe and finding a distant planet.

That would be pretty cool to experience...it would be amazing to see what my home was like before Europeans came in...100% natural and disease-free I expect! hehe.

I would go back and start the world greatest comic book collection, I would have to bring some old money but i wouldn't need very much. at 10 cents a comic I think a 100$ would do

Now that I think about it I think going back just 10 or 15 years would work best. I could stop myself from making a few mistakes and also invest in some stock before it skyrockets. Then I'd buy all the comics I want

Sometimes I wonder if went back in time to stop mistakes I've made, isn't it likely I'd make the same mistakes all over again but in new ways?
But then, I suppose if you're going back in time with the knowlege of what you did the first time around...you'd be able to fix things.

True.
Oh! I would go on my trip to Greece and Italy again! And eat authentic Greek Gyros! ...dammit. There's no gyros smiley! They have a (flan) one but no gyros. What is a flan anyway?

Ya, what is that, looks like a flying hat.
I've never been out of the country(USA) so I can't relive that but I would like to go back and respond differently to some girls that flirted with me back when I was a teenager. I'd have a few choice words with a rotten lady who was once my step-mother and maybe fix a car I realy liked but failed to fix, all it needed was a new radiator.

Yeah...I might have put more of an effort into school...like actually pass calculus or something! And I'd probably be less shy when it came to guys I liked as well.
Ah well!
See. The thing about wishing you could go back and change things is that you start to regret the things that you did and wish you had done them differently. That's why, you shouldn't look at them as "mistakes", but rather things from which you can now learn from. lol

Chances are that trying to do differently might just make things worse, when you come back to your own time or you get stuck there
