The What, the when, the where, the who and the how... and the Lean, mean and ugly.

I fear you should have spoken up a bit earlier there Prof. I think we who are gathered here need to agree on a date and work from there. In that spirit, I vote for not Easter, Not the May Day weekend and not the weekend when they are having that meet up in Cornwall. Other than that, I'm, if not happy, at least reasonably footloose

To be honest I'm surprised YOU'RE online BB, what with not having access. Or has that not started yet?

Possibly... I was talking to BlueBottle though. I dunno, I've not been on h2g2 properly since about Sept. last year, so I'm a little o u t o f syncwiththings.

It's just that Bluebottle and Munchkin seemed doubtful that the Fish would come online at all around now.

Oh... well, I'm online, if that's any help.
Which it obviously isn't.

*As if by magic, The appears*
Yep, sometime after easter, in May would be great... But I'm open to suggestions... Also I presume it would have to be a Saturday/Weekend... so that's either the 4th, 11th, 18th or 25th...
There's outdorsy stuff to do in Reading... Ooo and by then we'll have our nice new "Rising Urinals"...
Been away in Bangor for the past two weeks, then wondered up Snowdon and decided to text everyone from the top... Also brought back a souvenier floor tile... I didn't want to nick any rock, cos that's just rude!
Any questions on Reading/Getting 2 Reading/Staying in Reading/Eating, drinking, entertainment/General and specific history etc... Just ask

Have you witnessed these urinals first hand? How fast do they rise? Cos on South Today they seemed to move really slowly. I was hoping that you could wheel a dozing old person or wheelchair bound fellow on top, and they'd wake to find themselves a lot higher up than they expected.
Or would that just be really, really mean?

Can't be in May, though, as I've pointed out. Ming and I will be too busy to attend, what with revision and all.
Well, I know /I/ will be too busy to attend.

I'm sure you could miss one little day... perhaps you could even take some books with you, so you could sit there and revise while we have tremendous fun in the local area, pausing occasionally to point and call you a pair of s?
And thus the mean streak continues...

Piffle! I'm going to work hard at this. Believe it or not, education is, in my opinion, more important than going out.

Uncle Heavy [sic] Posted Mar 26, 2002
no, its as important. in the scheme of things, education is not all that important...especially if you only miss one day.
if you feel you must revise your entire life away, well, you really DO need to get out more...

You're entitled to your own opinion, of course, but I need not heed it...

no. you probably have work to do. life isnt all about grades and work. theyre constructs. we dont need them. why are you doing it? so you can get a good job which youll work hard at to earn money. thats structure. its dull, its conforming and slightly pointless. then you can retire and play golf.

Ming Mang Posted Mar 26, 2002
I'm beginning to think I'm going to need a day off from revising... I dunno, I'll see when I get there, at this rate I'll be teaching myself one and three halves of maths modules... Which I guess isn't as bad as it could be.
But I think I'm going to try and make it. If my dad will let me as well, of course...

*big grin*
I'm not doing this for a job, I'm doing this to get into uni... then have fun and doss about. Unfortunately this is unlikely to happen, I'll just sit online all the time...
