Welcome aboard!
A tip (for you and some of the other recent members) - if you want to see any new conversations that appear, go to the main "Orchard" page and click the "Notify me of new conversations..." link. That way, if somebody starts a thread to ask a question, there's the most chance of somebody who knows the answer seeing it. Once you've done that, unsubscribe from this thread and you won't be hassled every time somebody new joins up.

Now that I bought a Mac (yesterday at a garage sale, in fact [only 40 bucks {and it was a Performa 5200CD w/OS 8.5}]) I'm joining the Mac User's Group!

I've been a Mac user (off and on) for as long as I care to remember, so I guess I should join a users group. This looked like the one, until I noticed that in your list you don't have *the* most important link a Mac user could possibly want.

You're in, ska!
about the long delay; I've been ill for the past 4 days or so, and haven't really been keeping up with my threads like I should.

A quick question - I can't seem to print e-mails off unless I copy them into a document format. Any hints/tips on how to do that?
Oh, yes, and also, how do I copy pictures from websites - I can do that at work on my PC by right clicking, but I'm not sure how to do it on my Mac!

Hi Peta! Congratulations!
ZSF, I've never had any problems printing emails. We need to know your OS, the email client you're using and which printer you've got.
Copying pictures (not mine, I hope
) is easy. Hold the mouse down on the picture until the contextual menu appears or hold down Control and click on the picture. Select 'Download to Disk' from the menu that appears.

Amy,
Thanks!
I've a Mac OS X 10.2.6 and my e-mail supplier is clara.net (although I have to type clara.co.uk to send and receive mail.
Does that help?
I'll try what you suggest to get pictures.

Control and click on the picture does the job, Amy. Thanks!
That's what comes of buying a computer that doesn't come with a book of instructions!

*shrugs* I never read instructions. Do you?
What we need to know now is the name of your email client. It might be Outlook Express or Netscape or Eudora for example. And which printer are you using?

I'm an 'if all else fails, read the instructions' type of person, Amy!
I'm using Outlook Express and my printer is a Hewlett Packard 3822.
