New Help With GuideML

Attention all Researchers interested in or developing GuideML editing
software of any kind: the GuideML Editor Writers'
Caffeine Machine
is now open for business. The aim is to provide
a central location for discussion, help and collaboration among GuideML
editor writers, with the intention of improving all GuideML editors
across the world.

Abi's Community Activities

This will be the last time we announce Abi's Activities in this section of The Post as she hopes to bring you a fuller picture of her picks through her new 'Community Column'.

  • Advent Quiz: Test your h2g2 knowledge and race your fellow
Researchers to be the first to post the correct answer in the Advent Quiz.

  • Big Apple: Learn to speak like a native Noo Yawker with the
    Langwich Skool

  • Pagan Page: What ever your pagan beliefs, be they Wiccan,
Druid, or the Norse Path, you can meet other Researchers at the h2g2 Pagan Page.

  • h2g2 Pet Shop: There are plenty of fluffy little animals just
looking for a home at the h2g2 Pet Shop Go on,
    you know you want to!

  • Fish Adoption Scheme: A fish is for life, not just for
Fridays. Why not visit the Fish Adoption Scheme
    and show you care?

New Sites of Interest

  • Another collection of Post favourites has been collected into one place. You can now see who has contributed prose and poetry to the Post by visiting the Poetry and Prose Archives
  • If you have been enjoying Hullabaloo's Vogon Poetry then why not drop along to his Fan Club.

A new fun feature is the The Vogon Poetry Game. Give it a try!
  • Another bizarre but fun happening has cropped up in the wake of the announced 'downtime' of h2g2 scheduled for today1. Join in with a suggestion for naming the downtime at this thread. Perhaps hazard a guess as to when, exactly, the 'downtime' will actually occur whilst you're there... or rush over to the H2G2 Scapegoat Service to find someone to blame!
  • A new club has sprung up where you can add to an extremely long list of 'smileys' we would like in the guide. Strangely it can be found at TINARAIIDTCSPLYWWGAOWTCFLOS. You will have to visit to find out what that stands for!
  • The h2g2 staff have set up a central point for official h2g2 announcements. This can be reached by typing in 'Announcements' after the 'Guide/' section of the usual URL or by going to h2g2 Announcements.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
