Stealth "Jack" Azathoth

I've just gotten back from Skeptics in the Pub, Brighton.

Until more news comes out about what the nature of the new coalition agreement is and it becomes clear just what the Take Back Parliament alliance of voting reform groups has as it's goal in this new reality on Saturday... as it seems the protest is still to go ahead, I won't know if I want to stand with them or not.

Bel, I'll happily stick with you if you want, as I'm not *that* fond of crowds either. smiley - hug

Mrs Zen

I'd feel very guilty if I diverted the Meet away from Meeting, so I suggest it's a private decision whether or not to go to the demo.

I'd go if it were just me, but it's not just me. I forgot that people may not be able to make the evening meet, and I also think that a lot of work's been put into the arrangements and I don't want to disrupt them en masse.

So, since it's NOT just me, I think we should stick by the current arrangements for Hyde Park / Tate Modern.

There will be other demos....

Ben

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

Please note the following underground lines will have partial closures on Saturday, as indicated:
District Line: Earl's Court to Richmond/Ealing Broadway (My route in and out of town... smiley - wah)
Piccadilly Line: Hammersmith to Northfields or Ealing Common.

Cannon Street station closed.
Paddington station closed to Hammersmith and City line.

Hope that doesn't cause any major problems.

smiley - ok

Bel, please don't be annoyed by my offer, but I am happy to travel with you to make sure you get to the airport. I'll just have to watch my smiley - ale intake on Saturday night smiley - laugh but I know a number of routes that can get you to Heathrow. Just need to check on how to get to Terminal 5.

MMF - as I am a bit vague about where I will be when early in the afternoon, can I ask you if your mobile number is still the same as ever? Will send test text to check ... watch out!

When will the decision be made as to what the weather is going to be?

(Just checked my Tube map, those closures shouldn't be a problem for me.)

smiley - erm I've checked the smiley - star forecast for Saturday.

17C with Sunny intervals but, at the same time it has been quite cool over the last few days so my suggestion is the Tate Modern (against my better judgment smiley - wah,

http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/

It has a weekend 10th Anniversary festival, and for the athletic, a stroll along Queen's walk if smiley - star, smiley - steam and pleasant. This will allow for chat and picnic-type things and a browse around the Tate for those who want.

As Blackfriars is closed, I suggest going to Temple (District and Circle line) and crossing Southwark bridge, either by taking a 344 smiley - bus from stop S or walking.

The other option is London Bridge (Northern Line)

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=532750&y=180750&z=110&sv=london+bridge&st=1&tl=Map+of+London+Bridge,+EC4&searchp=ids.srf&mapp=map.srf

The latter is easier to get to Holborn, with the Northern Line to Embankment, then Central to Holborn.

I hope this works for all!

Meet at the Tate Modern Restaurant at 13.00?

Please give feedback...

smiley - grovel

smiley - ta

Look forward to seeing you all.

I'd suggest the Café as it may be less crowded.

Mobile # still the same.

1pm is fine by me, although i imagine saturday lunchtime will be rather busy in the cafe. Be prepared to queue for a while before you get near any food!

How will we recognise each other? I'll obviously be wearing my petunias t-shirt, but how will i know you lot?

Well. I'm MMF, so I'll know me and, from experience, I've always identified HooTooers fairly easily. Look for a bespectacled greying geezer with a black backpack, walking stick, camera and either a 'Fiddler's Elbow' t-shirt or grey sweat with a fiddle on. Failing that, e-mail me before 10.30 (addy on my PS) for my mobile number!

See you tomorrow.

Here's me checking in for the last time before I leave for the airport. Unlike Beatrice, I am not expecting any dignitaries to see me off.

See you all some time this afternoon!
