To date the following have been volunteered as choices for the afternoon meet:
Tate Modern - em6 and Mrs Zen
HydePark / a park, with or without a picnic - Bel, Solnushka, Trillian's Child and Mrs Zen
Soane Museum - Jack Winterbourne and Dr Zen
That is the limit of researchers stating a preference. I'll leave it until this coming Saturday evening before posting the majority decision. At present Hyde Park / a park, with or without picnic, is favourite to date.
It would make it easier to count researchers' choices if they are noted here please:

Thanks in anticipation.

Oh, I quite like Tate Modern, too. And I'd give Soane Museum and Lincoln's Inn Fields a go, too.
Anything that's relatively central, really.

Actually, since it was pointed out that the Soane Mus is closish to a park, I could weather that. I daresay the Tate Modern would amuse the Star too, although when we went to the V and A he got into trouble for manhandling the priceless works of art so...
Anyway. Hyde Park is still my fav, but...

I'm not sure where I voted for a park, but Bea and I both liked the idea of the Museum of Brands. I tend generally to agree with everyone, so don't base any decisions on anything I say.

I've put it n the other thread, but the Soane seems to hit all of the buttons.
Do up all of the buttons?
Button up all of the buttons?
Er....
I'm voting for it anyway.

We could narrow it down to one indoor and one outdoor activity, and wait for the weather. Soane is fine by me, and nearly everyone else has mentioned it, too.

If we do plump for the Soane, I found this note on their website:

That would be us.

I'll be quite happy to just go with the flow, whatever people prefer. I didn't think I'd be able to do even that much!
Oh, and thanks a lot for the hard work!

Here is the midday Friday update:
Tate Modern - em6, Bel, Solnushka and Mrs Zen.
HydePark / a park, with or without a picnic - Bel, Solnushka*, Trillian's Child and Mrs Zen
Soane Museum and Lincoln's Inn Fields - Jack Winterbourne, Bel, Solnushka, Trillian's Child, DragonQueen, Mrs Zen and Dr Zen
London historic church walk / Victoria Embankment walks - h5ringer and Dragon Queen.
That is the limit of researchers stating a preference. I'll leave it until this coming Saturday evening before posting the majority decision. At present the Soane Museum is ahead by three votes. I will see if there are any catering facilities nearby, if it is chosen, for those who prefer to while away the afternoon in LIF.
Please be aware of a restriction at the museum: 'Unfortunately large bags cannot be accommodated at the Museum - we cannot allow them to be taken around the Museum and space is very limited for storage. Smaller bags may be left with the warder at the Front Door.'

The Soane says 'no adult groups can be accomodated on Sats', and defines a group as over six people visiting together. As I think someone has said, that's us. Also, it says that they can't do pushchairs. That counts me out as the Museum definitely doesn;t want my son free and loose amongst their exposed collections, even if they do have room for the contraption in their porch on the day.
Course, we could hang out in Lincon Fields, which was the benefit someone pointed pout of the Soane, but if it's wet...
Anyway. My wet choice is now the Tate. And my dry choice is now Hyde Park or one of the walks.

There's also the implicaiton on the site that there will be queues of up to 1 hour at the Soane on a Sat if we didn't go as a designated group (which we can't anyway, see above).

What Sol said. If we can't do the Soane, then let's not try.

Ie - not try to do the Soane, but actually do something else instead.

Seems Soane's not an option then. I'm up for Tate if it's wet, or Hyde Park if the weather is nice in that case. I'd love to do a walk, but will have my luggage with me all day, and even if I won't take much, having to carry it all day is not something I'd look forward to. However, if most people vote for a walk, I may join the pub crowd early.
