Friday afternoon seems a good time to have another look at these. I know I've got 2,3 and 9 right, so I'll reveal my currently wrong guesses at the rest, and we can pool our thoughts.

4. Show-jumping - black and white bars.

6. Judo (might be a different martial art)
7. Skiing

7. Is it Eddie the Edwards, ski-jumper extrodordinaire?
8. Rugby - I can see an egg shaped ball
