Hi Galaxy Babe,
Had a look at F19585?thread=618172 as suggested then went over to the BBC Complaints pages...nothing there on Dr Who?! A whole new conspiracy theory opens up.

I'm fully expecting some awful fanfic about this - anyone got any links yet?
What this family wants to know is: when is Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart going to show up?
Dr Who
Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Mar 28, 2005
I want to know that too, I want to know if the doctor has ever run into any of his old companions
It's a well know TV ploy to create sexual tension between 2 characters to keep people tuning in, it worked with Mulder and Scully, Jack O'Neill and Sam Carter, Dr Ross and Nurse Hathaway, David and Maddie (Showing my age now) Capt Picard and Dr Crusher, Capt Janeway and Chakotay, need I go on

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship. Posted Mar 28, 2005
As a first introductory episode, it was ok, however I hope that the writers slow the pace a little, otherwise the storylines could get very shaky. It did seem to be travelling at breakneck speed which, IMO, may make it necessary to watch it twice. The effects were reasonable, with nods in many directions:- The Earth is travelling....? (Monty Python, anyone?)

New Who impresses ex-Doctor McCoy

So far I have seen the first episode twice and I'll see it again before the next one. My grandson wasn't interested in seeing it but now can't wait for next Saturday.
The production designer was in school with my eldest son.

Hi huzzah4knolly, you have to post your own complaint - then read their response.
The reason there's nothing there about Doctor Who is because they haven't responded to my complaint yet.
(It is a "Bank Holiday weekend" here in GB)
They have apologized for the "technical problem" though, on another webpage.

Just read the Sylvester McCoy link above, he says
"He seemed to need Rose more than any other Doctor needed his companion, because she could really help him out."
Yeah, right, that's what my 13, 11 and 9 yr old nieces and nephews thought.
Whereas it was clearly a setup to get her hooked, as Clive alluded to.
p.s. glad to see the sonic screwdriver back. But organic? I guess there won't be any more reversals of the neutron flow then.
Dr Who
BouncyBitInTheMiddle Posted Mar 28, 2005
I believe it was "reverse of the polarity of the neutron flow," . Which almost certainly makes no sense scientifically anyway.

Mister Matty Posted Mar 28, 2005
"Then there's he fact that we've got a Doctor who has obviously quite recently regenerated but unlike other occasions didn't have the stabilising influence of a human companion, hurrah for the sheer spoggliness of Christopher Eccleston's performance!"
It's also the first time since Pertwee arrived that the regeneration hasn't been shown. That series also heralded a new direction for the franchise (in colour, away from space-travel to become earth-bound, much more action oriented) although a major difference is the outfit - Pertwee pretty much started the Doctor dandying-up* while Eccleston has returned to a more conservative outfit.
*It's ironic that this reached a peak with Colin Baker who actually wanted his Doctor to dress in black like The Master - instead wardrobe decided to dress him up in a multi-coloured longcoat. They later admitted that this "probably worked against the series".

I spent a lot of saturday watching the Who marathon on UK Gold, sad I know but Alex was away and me and mum had the TV to ourselves, they interveiwed the actor who played The Brigadier and the reason so much of the Jon Pertwee years was based on Earth was because it was cheaper, they didn't have to spend so much on alien sets, effects and costumes

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Mar 29, 2005
Hoo- your only question is how did the Nestene get the TARDIS? My main question was 'what the Hell is anti-plastic?'. Aside of that I was positively bouncing on the sofa with joy. Plus, I rewound the video and watched it staright through again straight away .
I noticed the sound fxck up- I realised it wasn't intentional when I recognised Norton's voice.
Dr Who
Orcus Posted Mar 29, 2005
Since plastics are polymers (molecules with many many repeating units of the same thing) then maybe anti-plastic is a catalys for reversing the polymerisation process?
Turns polythene back into ethlylene gas for example

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Mar 29, 2005
The only problem there, Orcus, is that Auton plastic doesn't have any polymer chains... apparently.
