Cool,
Like the "Dredd" vibe of the rhino people.
Not the greatest episode mind. I suppose always a bit tricky to introduce new characters and have a great story at the same time.
Did anyone spot this years "Bad wolf"? I certainly didn't.

It was good but personally I've never found Vogons particularly scary.
Was the consultant chap Pinhead? Didn't half look like him.

Kitish Posted Mar 31, 2007
I thought it looked very stargatey to be honest (the hats on the rhinos...)
Next week's looks interesting...
I think the 'big bad wolf' this time may be Saxon...

Saxon????
I evidently wasn't watching closely enough....

There were a number of fly postings, especially in the alley towards the end with Vote Saxon on them.

Traveller in Time Reporting Bugs -o-o- Broken the chain of Pliny -o-o- Hired Posted Mar 31, 2007
Traveller in Time noticed the voting calls as well
"The most scary part was when thjey entered the frontdoor, 'Waterrat' curled up to me ."

I liked it, I really did, the rhino's were a bit suspect but good, I suppose they couldn't use Pigs as the intergalactic police
I like Martha I'm looking forward to the rest of the series

I thought it was a prEtty good episode loved by all family from 73 - 11...I rang me Mum after watching...she's hooked once more.
11 year old Tom spotted the "Vote Saxon" posters and Mr Saxon was also mentioned in the interview with the junior Doctor. Tom thinks Saxon will be the Master, but that probably becasue he just been watching "Keeper of Traken/Logopolis"
Working within the NHS I could think of a few hospitals taht could/shoud be dumped on the moon !!

Well there have been rumours flying about that The Master and even other Time Lords may make an appearance towards the end of the series.
I also seem to vaguely recall that the army received orders from a Mr Saxon to shoot down the Racnoss Webship towards the end of The Runaway Bride. Yeah the thread running through this time has to be Saxon.

Mol - on the new tablet Posted Mar 31, 2007
Brother has come up with something very, very clever about Mister Saxon.
I watched tonight's episode with all of my siblings (for the first time in 20 years) and my children. So that was . And Sic has drawn her first picture of Martha so I think we can call the new companion a hit.
We were rather concerned that the Doctor was on the Moon without either his Tardis or his sonic screwdriver. But, given that this was episode one, not completely terrified. And how fantastic that ordinary drinking straws will now provide us with a daily opportunity to re-enact the alien experience.
An awful lot of running around corridors though.

Traveller in Time only now conused by the time loop performance
"'We are not allowed to change time' as in 'not warning about things to come'. I doubt Martha would have taken The Doctor any serious as she would not have been puzzled by meeting him outside first. "

flakey-lady.... you lookin' at me punk? Posted Mar 31, 2007
we quite liked it.. i found tennant even better this series, shame he is going? lots of attraction between doc and new lady. and i mean sexual attraction.. wonder where that will lead?
miss jones very attractive will she succeed in seducing the doc where others seem to have failed???
i also picked up on the saxon posters as we are always looking at the backgrounds to identify local areas, being from cardiff and all that...
scene spotting.. when marthas sister on the phone to her before the hospital disappears is one of our main paved shopping streets [queen street] walks past pillars restaurant, and the hospital is digitally imposed where our cardiff castle actually is...

flakey-lady.... you lookin' at me punk? Posted Mar 31, 2007
ps i mean seducing in the physical sense as we know the doc can get emotionally involved.. i mean hanky panky

Alfster Posted Mar 31, 2007
Other scene spotting: spme of it was filmed at Glamorgan University...presumably the inside bits...a mate lectures there.

He probably just went to Toys R Us. S'where I got mine.
So people have spotted the 'Saxon' foreshadowing, but did you see the first appearance of the name 'Saxon' way back in series two?
[Clue - it's on the front of a newspaper.]
Good news with the ratings - average of 8.2, peaking at 8.9, most popular show of the night. A lot of happy faces in Cardiff this morning I reckon.
