I don't see any familiar faces. Mainly because my eyes are closed as I'm sleeping. That's also an old tradition. Wrong thread, oh well...

'there seems to be so many places here, it's a rabbit warren and very confusing'
Well, Alyson, it's sort of like real life: hootoo is a village; there's a High Street with a bunch of signs hung out on the shops and offices, and there's the village square and various street corners and back alleys and little lanes and back gardens and cosy little cottages . . .
and in most of those places there are a number of knots of people having conversations of varying degrees of intimacy or formality . . .
and the only way to get to know them is to come and live in the village.
I suspect that making it 'easier' or more user-friendly or organizing things would be *very* damaging to the community.
Certainly the shops on the High Street would be able to endure some regulation -- they might benefit. But the rest of the Village would be left as a cosy warren, I think.
Now I'll read the backlog.

@Alyson Larholm>
I presume though even though we are on different sides of the river working with you means, where it is welcome and workable, the possibility of cross pollination of ideas and technology?
I steadfastedly speak just for myself here, and no one else (though I hope some in this parish would agree with me) but if there are cool toys you have that would improve the hootoo project that we wanted it might happen. And similarly if you can learn ways of doing things from us that would help your communites then I for one am pretty about that.

I thought she meant that lycos and hootoo were on opposites sides of the noesis river. We've got a bank all to ourselves

Now that all the effort is rewared with a successful bid, do we get to see the reincarnation of the Great Big Document again?
Just so we know what we were discussing in the first place

I've just realised I'm ****ed (not sure about the number of stars there) but i would suspect that I'm in the same boat as the people who can only access bbc sites from work
Normally the overlly sensitive keyword stuff would block this site, but because its a bbc website its all footlose and fancy free
I shall need some attack badgers to put in extra leads for me...to the hundreds of computers around my school.
Everyone emailing my head of ICT (who is really, really, really disliked) would...irritate him off immensly...excellent
