Help me here. The only thing I can see that's missing from the old MP page is the Unsubscribe link.

Well done Sam and Chris and all involved smiley - applausesmiley - bubbly Hope you get to enjoy the day smiley - magic

A couple of questions:

How long will dna/h2g2 remain available? Six months? A few weeks? It would be quite useful to be able to use both sites alongside each other for a while, esp in terms of being able to see what's changed. So it would also be useful to know how long we've got (ball-park figure).

If it's going to be more than a few weeks, any chance in the meantime you can fix the problem with apostrophes in burlesque showing as ' in dna/h2g2? (not sure if that's an easy thing to do).

Icy, Count etc, any chance you could take that convo to the Feedback thread? I'm just aware that the last Announcement thread had a lot of backlog that some people had trouble keeping up with (yes, I know I'm as bad as anyone at posting offtopic smiley - blush)..

"The only thing I can see that's missing from the old MP page is the Unsubscribe link."

In the new system you have to actually go *into* a thread and scroll to the bottom to find the "Unsubscribe" link.

Righty then, there are so many that I've lost track -
will one of you please remind me where the thread is for feedback & discussion of the new site?

Currently I'm bemused by my Public Profile page.
If you bestir yourselves to analyse my recommendations (if any), that may tell you something about me - but surely that's not a profile?

"we are pleased to announce that the redesigned H2G2 is now ready for you to go and explore over at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2" When I click on the link you gave, I get a "page not found" message.

It works fine for me (although I sometimes have to refresh a page a few times before it shows). Hypatia said she kept being asked to sign in.
Any other USAnians who're having those problems?

Strangely enough, when I clicked on the link on the preceding post, I got into the new site. Does anyone know why the smileys aren't operational?

But it *doesn't* work in the new system, prof. And I haven't met anybody who knows whether the smileys are gone forever, or will be reinstated eventually. Maybe someone is out there who knows, but there's a mountain of stuff to sift through to find that person. smiley - sadface

For the same reason you "fix" a dog or a cat, perhaps.
