The new suffix" is too short to be useful. Even trimming the "Pedantic Punctuation Policeman" part of my name to "PPP" I get an "Suffix Too Long - Must not contain more than 100 characters" error. I need the "suffix" facility to be able to hold at least "(the Pedantic Punctuation Policeman, Muse of Lateral Programming Ideas, Eggcup & Spoonswinner, Cheese Namer & Zaphodista)" or parentheses to be allowed in the "normal" login name. Thus far, I'm not happy.

I know, I know.
I'm certainly going to give it a chance and I'm not stomping off in a huff.
I just hope it doesn't end up being less user friendly than the old way.

hi editors or programmers or whomever is
heh heh heh
responsible
it looks like you have been busy here
and it looks very interesting and promising
i think i like the cleaner larger font
...
...
and i know its going to all be wonderful when all the kinks are worked out
...
...
...
but
will there be in the off chance a possibility in the foreseeable future
that we will be able to change the dusky teal that seems to be the main color theme right now?
i mean, i used to have control over my color scheme
and being an artist
whether a viewer knows it or not
or cares or not
color DOES affect the experience
its kinda important to me
thanks

well anhaga... if thats true that theres not much hope then because that is the most deplorable chroma of bluegreen i have ever seen... unless it was on the back of a walmart employee whose retirement is almost due!
it is sickly drab washed out and makes me want to puke and i would except gazing at it causes such a miasma of ennui within my faltering spirit that i
can
not
even
take
breath
to
....aaaaaah

From what I remember, the Eds did say they were interested in feedback. Personally I'd like to try the site out for a few days/a week and see how it fits before I make my list of demands . As a community we might want to discuss what works and what doesn't and come up with a list of priorities of stuff we want changed, as well as letting the Eds etc know what's worked.

if they even managed to make it into my possession in the first place
...
...
...
im making it worse huh
sorry

omg i am soooo sorry but it soooo looks like a slug at first glance
possibly the color has something to do with it
please please please do something about the color
you have put at least three blues together here that
do
not
go
together
truely
i am available for consultation
serially

fluffykerfuffle Posted Jan 19, 2011
okay so correct me anyone who knows if i am wrong
or just off base
but
i think the problem with the color is that it is just so
beige
in a blueish sort of way
and i think
i really think
maybe
you can go neutral and still have a fresh color scheme
nature did a good job
green is a good base
and no grey in it
like this teal is a chroma a mixture of a secondary color and black and white
technically called a 'decorator color'
as in what people used to paint their walls with
and the key phrase here is 'used to'
and then of course there is
the aforementioned problem
of the three blues
that do not go together
(the slider bars, the greyed teal color scheme, and the blue of the pictures)

I call it Battle of Britain blue.
But you'da hadda seen the movie.
The poster has way too much fire in it.

And if you just look at the top part of the sky
and think 'beige' you might see the dolphins laughing.

Not sure if this link to a 4 minute trailer will work for everybody.
But it sure has a lot of that beige/blue crud in it.
And just a taste of Susannah York's blue eyes.
It also ends on a wonderful sound bite:
"It blue up! It.. blue up."
I kid you not.

If I may don my beret for a moment . . . .
The colour of the upper banner is nothing other than Prussian Blue.
Hardly appropriate for the BBC.

ya'll are crackups!
yes its uninspiring anhaga
people sometimes make the mistake
of thinking that if something is to be neutral
it has to be blah

'if something is to be neutral
it has to be blah'
It's the Hitchhiker's bloody Guide to the bleeding Universe for goodness sake!
Why ever would it be neutral, let alone blah?
This site is the original online encyclopaedia, existing solely to be the crucible of well and idiosyncratically written pieces which are at once informative, entertaining, modestly accurate and in no way neutral or blah!
I didn't arrive here two hours after buying a hardcover copy of The Salmon of Doubt to write more than twenty-five wikipedia articles (those s have lifted a few of my Edited Entries, BTW). I arrived here because I have no interest in being neutral and blah online: I'm blah and neutral enough in real life, thank you very much.
So there!

I like the new colour scheme. It's exactly the one I would have chosen if I had control over the colours in the old system.
I'll let you lot argue about the aesthetics and functionality, though, and I'll concentrate on finding all the bugs, which is what I'm good at.

Although having said that, I have good eyesight. I believe that for visually impaired people, text should be black on white.
