Re: random top user
Although it is not defined what a top user is, one is listed on the front page even when there appears not to be one. It is not very random in the sense of being different on every viewing of the page. Nor is it strictly speaking the user. Viewing source shows that the link is to an A-number (eg A1357869 for U515926). So the lack of a visible clickable link would presumably occur when no title has been set for the PS page.

Ah...
But why isn't there an explanation anywhere?

SEF Posted Oct 15, 2003
My latest check came up with A1357896 (U515932) - again blank subject/title. So on minimal evidence top random user seems to be progressing up the new users or info list. This impression could easily change on the next data point though.

Still A1357896/U515932

The blog is too long, and time is too short for me to go back through this lot, so:
Can anyone tell me how to stop My conversations having an asterisk and red unread threads? You used to be able to click on the ^^ and everything up until there was marked as read but that doesn't seem to work any more.
Sorry if this is already explained here somewhere.

I think PaprBaby won't be signing on until things are consistantly smoother, 'cause her mommy went wacky enough!
OK, I must be tired... That didn't even make sense in my head...

Anyone noticed yet that the A number for a personal space now re-directs you to the U number... try it A71993
By the way - I was going to use Jim Lynn's page to do this... but he appears to have several zillion entries to his name - all created yesterday

That's all old news Whisky. The redirect was happening in a previous lot of testing. The articles are the category system.

No, the redirect was in place yesterday. I couldn't see much of h2g2 at all on Monday night but have no reason to believe it wasn't there if anything had been working at all.

Ok, pedantics aside - I meant it had gone online with this upgrade - I certainly hadn't noticed it before this week (of course that could just be me being extremely dense )

OK, Natilie, so the questions go there, but is this still the best place for whining and complaints?
