The Editorial and Community teams are taking turns to choose their favourite five entries. These will appear in the right-hand margin on the front page and will change each Wednesday.

Is it just me, or is there an atmosphere of rapid change around here at the moment - everything is happening at once! smiley - smiley

I think there should be a Volunteer's favourite five - it's a great way to revive overlooked material and get it noticed.

Whoami? smiley - cake

You can call me TC

No - let's be totally democratic and provide a button on each entry for "Nominate this Entry for Favourite Entry of the Week"

The nominations would have to be filtered by the Towers against silliness, but it would make it truly democratic.

Does this apply only to Edited Entries?

Just say NO to democracy...

Not sure about the voting thing TC, it may end up being rather static with older favourites staying put for ages until newer entries have had time to amass a large following. I suppose the count of votes could be reset each week but then the top five may tend to follow what was on the front page a bit too closely and older entries won't get a look in.

I wouldn't put it past one or two researchers to spend a whole day voting for themselves either smiley - winkeye

I like the idea of an individual's top five as we might end up with some eccentric choices. When you have run out of In-house teams will you widen the net to other researchers?

smiley - cheers

smiley - puffk

Trillian's Child - why not propose that idea to the feature suggestions entry at A388352? It's a good one, but I'm not sure when we'll get round to implementing it. Then we could host the first h2g2's Oscars smiley - smiley

Kelli - I think we were thinking about going back to the beginning again when everyone had had a turn - I had real trouble cutting it down to just five and have got my next lot ready in reserve. Mind you, that's a few weeks off so we might have changed our minds by then. It depends how much smiley - bubbly and smiley - cake we get offered smiley - winkeye
