Its not a question of Loving one religion and to hate other. Its a question of Terrorism which has spread all over the world like dreaded disease AIDS.What today we saw is the result of ignorance and the politics of convenience. Why the world today is not able to control the menace of terrorism ?. No one can control till you unite and eradicate this menace in the name of JEHAD/FREEDOM FIGHTERS. Today the whole world knows that the terrorists are being trained in Afganistan and Pakistan . These terrorists are very active as on today in various parts of the world including Kashmir. Daily innnocent people are being killed in the name of JEHAD and freedom struggle in Kashmir. There are evidences with US that hundred of training camps are operating in Pakistan and Afganistan. Pakistan has openally supported the cause of terrorism financially and politically. Today its the time to unite and all peace loving countries shall unite and eradicate these training camps in Afganistan and Pakistan with all means and power for the sake of humanity.

I think hatred in any shape or form is an entirely destructive emotion. Hatred is a personal emotion and I simply cannot see how it can be ascribed to an entire nation. It may be a matter of inculcation. Or culture.
But on a one to one basis can anyone really hate another just because of where they were born ? Not in my opinion.
How can anyone hate all of multi-cultural America.........where there are about 20 million Muslims.... or Moslems depending on your spelling.
Love Islam.......hate all but 20 million Americans ???
Get real.

That all is a tittle-tattle. ISLAM IS USED AS A WEAPON! It is an extremely simplified weapon against the strange western civilization in the north - the only effective one. The last century was a history of booming islam and the history of secularism of Europe and America. This century will be the era of conflict with militant islamic element. There will be two hight-tech castles < USA & EU >- surrounded by third-world soldiery in tenfold strenght. Yesterday you have seen the typical battlefield.
Islam knows only one limitation - power. And power comes from Allah. Our tolerance was misunderstood as weakness. In coran, weak is graceless, e.g.dead. Do you mean, that you can safely dispute with such logic without a gun in your hand?
And ... please, don't argue with 11th century - it is 1000 years ago. Who cares?

Much as I wholly support USA in the present ghastly and horific circumstances...some of us would like to believe that the citizens of the USA know the difference between 'Britain' 'europe' and the 'middle east'. A lot of us are convinced that their rather insular populace are wholly ignorant of ANY kind of geography outside their shoreline. What worries a lot of us is that we could easily be mistaken for their REAL enemy, and sometimes have been !!!

Who ever did this should be caught and punished as severly as possible. The incident is a major question to humanity itself. But the investigation must be blind to speculation and sentiments.
As for Islam and hate America I am compelled to say:
1. We must not, as you said, envelope the wrong doing of a handfull to every one who believes in a faith or a religion. At the moment we do not have final evidence that it were muslims who did this. To my understanding, no religion asks/lets it's followers to commit such a shameful act. For example, IF we agree that Israel is guilty of punishing Palestenians we would be all wrong if we blamed jews for it.
2. To be able to explain the feeling of hatred, we should remind ourselves that palestenians and muslims in general have witnessed the US backing up forces that muslims BELIEVE to be committing attrocities against them.

What happend is unbelievably awful. However I do believe that we have brought this upon ourselves. The West has treated the third world, and that means a lot of Muslim countries, like a dustbin for a long, long time. When your children die in Iraq due to western sanctions, when your house is bulldozed in Lebanon by the Israely army financed by the US then there will be men desperate enough, hateful enough to do what they did in New York. It is awful what has happened but we need to wake up on how we treat the rest of the world.

You utter, utter moron.
How can you possible condone such violence? Yes, the US needs to look at their policy, yes there is great injustice in the world but there is no excuse for what happened yesterday. I hope you shall never experience the horror of the phone ringing only to hear your husband/wife telling you they are about to die. Where is your humanity?

I think 184337 is partially correct- although it goes without saying that this is the most un-justifiably horrific act I think I've lived to witness, and the US in no way deserved the loss of what.. up to 10,000 CIVILIANS?, it is a bit rich of the US, for example, to go and try to get Barak, Arafat and co. to try to kiss and make up, while at the same time the Israelis are launching rocket attacks on Palestinian homes from attack helicopters sold them BY THE US. The people involved in the destruction have been INCREDIBLY selfless and caring, giving blood etc, but America as a whole is somewhat less caring overseas.

Love Islam, Hate American POLITICS?

First of all I would like to say that yesterday has been a sad day
for ALL PEOPLE on this planet. Whatever the religion or even political views! Even those who would normally declare the USA as their ENEMY didn't celebrate or used this mad event for their political propaganda.
Regarding the subject of this list:
Well people don't hate Americans, but they DO hate AMERICAN POLITICS!
Their financial/ logistical/ political support of Israel's aggression in this region is KEY. As well as support for every corrupt and ANTI ISLAMIC government in that region: from Algeria, Turkey...to even Iraq not that many years ago]. Unfortunately the USA did declare WAR to the ISLAMIC POLITICAL MOVEMENT many years ago, even though I can imagine that this is a big surprise for it's citizens. And as always it's these uninformed and 'little' people who pay for it!
I am sure that every political fraction in the WEST as well as NOT WESTERN world will agree that this crime has to be and will be punished.
But at the end real peace and safety will only be found in NEW POLITICAL VISION and approach for that region. If not the real danger of ESCALATION does hang above all our HEADS... and WWIII.
And the whole discussion about LIVESTYLE is very absurd. There are many European Countries living a far more 'open' western lifestyle
than the USA, and yet they were of no interest whatsoever for these Islamic political groups

Can the moderation team not intefere with political debate. I note that you now removed the earlier comments that I made. A blatant example of political censorship of the worst kind. Clearly any left view is not allowed on the BBC. There are only two political views that you allow: right-wing and apolitical, which of course are effectively the same. In particular it is worth noting that you publish without censorship, (and rightly so), all comments demanding a rapid destructive american response which would inevitably involve loss of life, but not comments that appear to suggest the same approach but not in favout of America. Your censorship is so blatantly biased that it is almost comical

The shock and horror at what transpired in america is felt by every
humanbeing our heart felt sympathy is with the victims family's.
I feel however that every one is jumping the gun somewhat here.We do not know as yet if indeed muslims are involved or not.Even if those who carried out this cowardley act are found to be of the muslim faith,we must and before we condemn the religion of islam or draw comparisons with the crusades establish the forces which drove those people to carry out such carnage and be prepared to die doing it.
I believe that the subject heading 'love islam hate america'is very misguided as i know it to be a fact that many muslims round the world love and admire america and the american people. what a lot of people round the globe and not only muslims hate is arrogance, prejudice, favoritism, imperialism that only to name a few of the ills of our world today.I believe it is our duty and the duty of every peace loving person regardless of his religion and for the sake security of all of our world citizens to work to stamp out injustice in our society.
