Not the sort I have to wear for work although I will admit they can be kinda silly - I meant the all in one baby grow like flying suits ...

I had a pair of terry cloth / baby grow type pyjamas when I was a kid. I loved them so much I refused to stop wearing them for ages after I had grown out of them
And on a change of tack, I'm *still* working. Albeit back at home with a bottle of wine and some Thai green chicken curry and noodles by my side.

Still working! I was thinking about going to bed!
I had problems with my washing machine today - decided to was the kitchen floor or rather turn it into a swimming pool so all my clothes are not yet dry. So I have not been able to pack for Brum so will have to get up plenty early to do it. Also with the ice its going to be a long journey to work tomorrow I think
Still at least the kitchen floor did not ice over making an indoor ice rink!

I don't suppose the flood shorted out that bloody bell did it?
Thought not. What a pity
Have a fun week in Birmingham, and drive carefully tomorrow morning

Lighthousegirl - back on board Posted Jan 5, 2003
nope it did not - the machine still managed to tell me when it had finished washing everything!
I will
I hope you have a good week too

I found your revised Journals entry absolutely fascinating - See, I told you you were bright! I e-mailed the text to myself at work and have been reading and rereading it through the day. It has fired something off inside of me about how I need to make changes in the way I look at my life if I am to make anything out of it. Now I've no idea really what form that this analysis will take, or its extent, nor even when it will start in earnest - just a recognition that something had better change.
A case perhaps of watch this space...

I am not really sure what to say
I am glad you got soemthing from it, and hope that your exploration is enjoyable and that you get even more from that.
If you want to talk / write things and ideas through - I guess this is not really the place and would suggest email?
Congratulations also on your secong anniversary. I found that thread hard to reply to as well as I really didnt know what to say! How unusual is that - stopping me for workds twice in one evening! I also did not know how to respond / react to the wonderful person line in there.
I am glad you are getting so much form this place - you said something about it making you a better person - your were great anyway of that I am sure - maybe its just helping you discover that!
How has your week been?

Sorry if you felt uncomfortable about my comment about you in my 2nd birthday journal. That wasn't my intention.
And as for actually *writing* anything in a journal. Well I haven't had any time to do it, as I've been so amazingly busy at work. This last week was the first doing my *new* job. All the things that have been in the system awaiting someone to do them have appeared all at once and it's me who has to sort it. I expect to be in the office doing some stuff tomorrow for the second Sunday in a row

Do you think you will write yourself a journal then? It is a great way of thinking about stuff!
Are you enjoying the new job so far - apart from it being so busy? How did the handover from your old job go?
Did you get to see the game on Wednesday? I think you may have enjoyed th result at least!

I will *definitely* be writing something and I think it will be pretty soon that I start. You see I noticed a very striking difference between us. You plan and think, you write things down, you work through stuff in a measured and methodical way. I, I drift through stuff and if I don't like what I see I either ignore it or fantasies around it - which of course amounts to the same thing.
See you *did* change me, despite initial plans to the contrary
The handover went over just fine. The guy who has taken over the job used to work in the Financial Management section in the past and was seconded for a couple of years to Women & Children as their Business Manager. He has come back to do a combined role as both Business and Finance person. A very interesting post indeed!
Of course I saw the match on Wednesday. I went to one of the local pubs that do Sky TV and had a wail of a time. I actually met a couple of other Blades in there, so I had someone to celebrate with as well. Funny, all of us had thought we were the only Blades in town!
Keeping with the football theme, I'm off to Portsmouth on Monday night for the match there - should have been this evening, but their pitch is frozen. Then Friday I'm off to Sheffield for the big one against Wednesday

I am glad you fell you can! I am not sure giving another perspective counts as changing someone - its just part of growing and thats OK! In fact its the whole point. Althought I would accept the arguement that if you grow you change.
Glad the handover went well and that you have found some other Blades in Brighton! Sounds like you are going to have a busy week so maybe thats why you will need to work tomorrow! How long will you stay in Sheffield?

Lighthousegirl - back on board Posted Jan 11, 2003
The match is on the Friday! Thats a lot of driving for one day ...

GreyDesk Posted Jan 12, 2003
I'm planning on going up earlyish in the morning and spending the day wandering around looking at the sites of Sheffield to see how they've changed, then back after the game. I don;t think it is that far, only about 500 miles. I've done twice that in day before!
Rollos
Lighthousegirl - back on board Posted Jan 12, 2003
Sounds like you have a fun day planned
I am not sure if I could do 500 miles in a day - let alone twice that
I know I used to do and hour and a half twice a day and at that time thought nothing of it but now I drive it less often Brum seems to have gotten further away How strange is that!

Absolutely wonderful
I actually went up a bit earlier in the day and had a drive and wander around looking to see how things had changed, and/or stayed exactly the same. And then to the match...
Nearly a full house, great atmosphere and a wonderful wonderful result YAY!!!
