can't - a contraction of can not
cant - phrases or srguments made meaningless through repetition
I don't know it's like drawing teeth around here sometimes

So, how was Christmas for you? Did your mother go mad and buy you a present that you might actually like or want? How was the food? How was the family?
For myselff I had quite a good time all things considered. Christmas Day weather was excellent so I spent most of the day outdoors mucking around on the seafront and beach. Then went home late and had my traditional Xmas dinner of chicken tagliatelle with a tomato and tarragon sauce
Stuf since then hasn't been so great. After 2 years of hard abuse my PC is in the process of dying. I reckon it would cost several hundred quid to get it back running again, and even more to get it back into peak condition. I'm sort of thinking that this might not be a worthwhile exercise and that for a few hundred more I could upgrade and buy something new and shiny. My only reservation being that it will come with XP and I'm not too sure about that operating system vis digital rights to music software

Christmas was as you could probably imagine it would be - no real surprises there! Everything I did was wrong from the moment I arrived till well after I left!
I got a saucepan for Christmas - a definite improvement over ironing boards and toilet brushes!
As for food - well she did not have much that I could eat in so it was a relief to get home and to be able to eat
All in all it sounds like you had a much better day than I did I hope it was not lonely.
Sorry to hear about the PC - it does sound like maybe its time for a new one. Do all new PC's come with XP?

I was posting from work.
Now I'm posting from home on a new PC
A grand gets me something sweet and flash from Packard Bell with about x times the processing power and Lordy knows how much memory and stuff.
The old PC will be taken apart and canabalised for any useful spare bits and bobs and then dumped.

The 'puter is lovely Very fast and with a truly stupid amount of memory and disc space!
Tonight I've been pressganged into going to a party and pub crawl by a friend from the old office in Worthing. It'll probably be alright, but bad things tend to happen to me when I go out on New Year's eve, so there is an element of worry there somehow

The bad things:
- car accident (not serious, and not my car)
- nearly arrested
- ended up in A&E for PAFO
- went to the wrong pub just before midnight and didn't have time to find the right pub
- spent the evening stopping one of my friends from getting off with a real wierdo. (she thanked me in the end)
- Got snogged ny some random woman in the street who gave me the worst case of flu I've had in my entire life!

Sounds like you will at least have an exciting time.
With no pub in the village I guess it will be me and my broken TV this evening
Rollos
GreyDesk Posted Dec 31, 2002
I'm really not looking forward to it to be honest. Actually I have no idea where the party is, I'm just waiting around for someone to bang on the door and say, "this way..."
And if you are watching your TV this evening. Is there any chance you could tell me what next week's lottery numbers are

Well at least you are getting to a party and have people to wait round for! My friends are all away or are doing 'couply' things
I will try and find out for you - anything else you would like to know?
