Suggestions for an afternoon activity?
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Oct 31, 2005
Oh wait, actually that might have been my fault. Vague memories of a food-fight surface.
Still, I'm sure the other one was washable.

Try Stain Devils, they have one for curry stains and one for beer stains, they work, as one who generally tips grease over herself can atest

I'd prefer it if Kerr tried Stain Devils. She seems to be responsible for the dirtying of my clothes.

I think a photo scavenger hunt would be great fun, as it will be the first time I've been in London, and indeed only my fourth day in the country. What a great way to see the London sights

Actually, I've got a soft spot for photo scavenger hunts.
Although, having said that, every disposable camera I've returned from one of those jaunts thus far in my lifetime has at least one home-made pornographic piccy on.

Not always. I got some luckier shots thanks to doing some photo scavenger hunts with women who were extremely relaxed about public nudity.

The photo scavenger hunt has a couple problems; 1 its a lot of organising (by someone who knows london well enough to get sensible, or at least dooable challanges).
2. the weahter might be c**p 3 prizes and cameras need a be gotten don't know how far the new HooToo/BBC budget will go and obviously there isn't any dosh directly to orgnaise the meets no more and 4th, I'd want a pub near by where each photoo needed to be taken for thurst purposes how about a phototo scavenger thinggy where its all photos of pubs?

Sounds to me like I'll rescind my decision to attend. I don't drink and that appears to be an entry requirement. Shame. It could have been nice if it wasn't organised around getting smashed.

I agree with you SBE. It's really unfair to people with families too and not in the spirit of previous afternoon events at all. Why not help by suggesting some other activities. That's what I've attempted to do.

Well I liked the Imperial War Museum idea or there are really good displays at the British Museum near where I work. If we took the British Museum option we could walk along Oxford Street/Regents Street afterwards to visit Hamleys toyshop and/or Harrods. What do you think?

There has always been a choice of afternoon activity for those that don't want to drink to early, this is what that thread is about, as long as it doesn't include the science museum AGAIN

An number of places seem to have open air ice rinks this winter
Ones i've seen are Somerset House, Natural History Museum, Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace. (which is also hosting a flower Show at the same time)
Though i have a horrible image of battered and bruised hootooers limping to the pub
I was going to suggest the Pollocks toy museum as an idea for those bringing kids. But it appears to have closed.

Ooooh, might be able to come along for the afternoon, even if I can't make the evening shenanigans!
