Actually - you shouldn't be hurt. I don't drink often, but it still is hard for me to go to a bar and just have a coke when my friends are drinking. It's just human nature that they expect you to react as they would. You've just shown that you are made of more substantial stuff...

yes. several points.
1) that im not an alcoholic
2) that im fun company sober
3) that im a stubborn git

Well, we'll have to try to plan your next trip to the "state" a little better, so that they won't fall apart so easily! Maybe you could take turns staying with several h2g2'ers. You could stay with Gosho in Texas for a few days, and you could stay with my family for a few days ( I could introduce you to my niece who's blond, tan and the captain of her highschool senior cheerleading squad this fall... she's 17) You could probably stay with Paul in the Boston area for a few days and Shea in New York... And I think Crazy is in Californai... Plane fare would probably be a bit pricey though...

well i was gonna do all kinds of stuff - i asked for a year off but oxford said no. i was gonna bum around the country, earning cash and staying with people. i feel all the more aggrieved now that i find you have a cheerleading niece, but im fairly sure that she wouldnt be that interested...im not exactly a man mountain of a football player

Ahh - but you're cute (I've seen your picture) and you've got that "British" thing going for you - which Americans love! I have a feeling you'd be very popular. And she's only about 5'3" so you are probably taller than she is also! She'd probably take you around and show you off a bit...
