Well, Calculator Nerd... figure out the size of a typical post, in bytes...
Estimate the number of posts per day...
Therefore come up with a figure for the amount of new space h2g2 needs each year...
And compare to the per Gb cost of hard disks.
I think you'll find there's nothing to worry about

I'm in. I don't know how I can help, but I want to learn, and I would be a big-time member of your thing if everything stays moral. Also, I would like to play / write online RPGs, but how do I start?

You mean a community that is actually PART of the BBC? I thought "from scratch" meant you were doing it yourselves without having most of it already done for you, and there are lots of so-called "online commmunities" that sell porn, so there should be some kind of rule thingy that prevents that, BBC or not.

Calculator Nerd 256 Posted Oct 10, 2002

so, yes it is from scratch
i am glad that someone finally decided to help me

as far as morality goes, it all depends on the people who play it
i suppose if they want, they can form a government after the game begins
the design crew will all be there, and we will be immortal and all-powerful
we shall smite the wicked
i like to think i am funny

hey, nerd42, what programming languages do you know?
it'd be great if it is like an RPG, but instead of just stats, everything is alterable
in fact, i have said all of this before, so just read the first thousand pages of posting and you will be caught up
