This is a Dark Forest. The main difference between a Dark Forest and a perfectly ordinary forest is that Dark Forests are always filled with dangerous creatures of all sorts. To cross this forest without being attacked by something or other would require more luck than any one man is entitled to.

[Sharp]: *looks over at the edge of the trees from far off* while he is still over in the field near the market.
The trees seem so thick and tangly that it is very hard to discern where the other side of the forest actually is. some are gnarled and look almost like hands that are held in such a way as to suggest someone saying "Give up now and turn back." *rubs eyes in disbelief*
: Is that good?

A sign near the edge of the forest reads, "Here be the Dark Forest. I'd turn back if I were you."

: And in a right professional manner too.
[Sharp]: "I wonder if the others have noticed or seen this..." *heads back to the inn*

: You do think it is in character, no?
Better a than a boa constrictor, I always say. (Imitating Sharp): " wait a sec, no I don't."

: Now I've been a 'dingbat'.
Y'know...bricks and those little metal-finned weighted things they'd drop out of open cockpit planes in WWI. If you had canvas covered wings and one ripped through your plane from above, you were toast.

A swarm of bats (yes a SWARM, they are acting like bees and even buzzing) is filling the air
Their screeches pierce the skies and the strange buzzing noise they, as a group, produce is almost hypnotizing.

[Sharp]: Them's some H*lla big s. Crows were size too. 'An if'n tha's just the kinda critters that're coming out of it, then that means...(thinking inside head. Players & DM can see the gears grinding and ticking around in little circles, tok-tickety!)...That there's probably h*lla worse creatures inside!
*Runs to market*

[Sharp]: *returns to the outermost edge of the outskirts of the dark forest.* "This time I'm more prepared." *takes both his hands, raises arms above his head, readying himself to cast a spell.* "Yaaah!" *Throws both hands forward* *casts flames at the large -sounding * *stands there waiting, preparing for his next move.* "..."

: guess a few of the s got hit, and the rest got away.
[Sharp]: *collects the few now cooked wings, and heads over to the market again.*
