h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

[Sharp]: *noticing a box-like mushroom with smoke coming out of it* "Hey, you have any idea what that is? I've never seen one before myself..."

[Anole]: They don't grow where live. Might be a bomb. *hangs upside down from lowest branch*

[Sharp]: *consults 1 of his arcane s* "Yes, very strange indeed. There was an entry on that,...but I'm afraid," He added, "That that page is the one that is missing. Might be best ta justa leave that one alone" The mushroom w/smoke going out the top is kind of stinky too.
"Dangerous looking thing-it is."
: Is the mushroom Sharp spoke of...looking at him ? How is this possible (the thing doesn't even have eyes for crying out). Maybe it's not really a mushroom.

[Sharp]: "Y'know I can sort of vaguely discern/make out a pipe,...Is it some sorta gnome?

[Sharp]: "I sure hope not. Whatever it is, it appears to be...sleeping"

The thought of an exploding gnome makes Sharp shudder a bit.

[Anole]:*stares at before releasing tree brance (while upside down) then flipping and landing on his feet*
Can't say for sure. They are normally in groups.

[Sharp]: "So, if I get this right, the thing (or critter/person, whichever) appears to be smoking from some sorta a loong-pipe and has fallen asleep? Sure is , . Some-kind of fungus/plant man,-I wonder..."

[sharp]: "That sounds right,..." *consults his pharmacoepia, and adds in some info. on the critter (whatever it is), on one of the blank back pages that are part of the insert.*
"Uh-huh..."
*makes a sketch of this thing (?)*
*shows the sketch to Anole*
"That look about right, I think?"

[Sharp]: "Oh well. At least it isn't really big..."
: A huge phyto-creature would be rather fearsome, no? Or at least moreso intimidating. .

[Anole]: The drawing looks similar to the thing.

[Sharp]: "Well, that'll be the best bet on a way to remember what it looks like 'till later, whens one of us could ask somebody else who might know about it." (thinking in his head): I wonder if maybe Gandark or Aeryn might know?
"..."
"Hmm..."
*looks around at the various plants and fungi that are all around nearby, and the ones Anole brought down from the tree.*

[Sharp]: In an affected French-ish accent "Thanks you Mssr. Anole. Adieu"
*leaves behind that bag of black-powder he offered earlier and some small individual containers of the salove and the balm, as a sort of a parting gift.*

[Anole]:* finds a path nearby*
Let's follow the path to see where it leads.

[Sharp]: *packing bags* "Well, , but seeing as how I still don't know If LeRue's shop actually carries a compatible scythe, like the kind I was looking for..."
"...Wait. Is this like a challenge or a dare? I'm no chicken, alright sure!"
*follows along with Anole deeper into the strange forest*

[Anole]:*takes out bow and quiver* Stay here and make camp, I'll go hunting.

[Sharp]: .
Sets down cauldron, goes about cleaning out the potion gunk in it leftover from all the stuff he made.*
"Oughta be good @ least for cooking a stew in, methinks..."
*wonders where he had left that stuff to go and pitch a tent.*
"Oh, that's right. I don't have a set of tents. "
*grabs some stones and puts them in a circle to contain a campfire*
"I kind of wonder why I hadn't thought to have bought @ least one while I was still in market.
*gathers sticks & wood to use for the camp fire*

[Sharp]: *Returns from whenst he had quickly gone off to to get a set of tents.*
"There, that's way better."
*pitches the tents*
-ing as he goes.
*Continues to gather some more firewood*

: Oops. Up there I meant salve, but one of the key-board keys had gotten stuck (again).

: : It still goes with the affected accent though, so maybe it all worked out anyway...

[Anole]:*returns with a dead deer that is already gutted and ready to be cooked and smoked for later meals*
How's the camp going?

[Sharp]: "Well, I had to go off ta marketplace fer awhiles, ta go an' find us some tents, an' the stuff to pitch 'em up with. The cauldron's clean an' ready ta cook some stuff with."
*indicates the set-up for the camp-fire.*
