A Conversation for The Dog House

Excuuuse Me?

Post 1

Commander Draco, Supreme Dragon Lord

Hello. I am one of the leaders of the dragonhouse and I personally know that there is no non-aggression pact with the dragonhouse. I said no to the pact so Big Bad Werewolf dropped me out of the dog house through a trapdoor. Sorry to make trouble but I think the dragonhouse would be better suited in the enemies section.

Yeah sure. I got my own army - what you got apart from a bit of bad dragon breath smiley - winkeye

Are you really sure you want to be our enemy ?

to be fair, though, the army aren't that effective, are they? *Njan winks and rolls a terminal pen between his fingers*

Mr. Dragon, I'd suggest you head the way of the cats, and see if you can't ally with someone already opposed to the dogs. smiley - biggrin

Not to be rude though I am:
One dragon could effectively beat a dozen or more dogs.

I do too have an army! Maybe.

Well that would be a very nice thing for the common good but I think personally loading on you the ills of mankinds feline experience would be a tad too much.

No, I speak merely of your earlier memory lapse and the slight visited on our organisation. In another age it would be pistols at dawn you know ... good of the Empire and all that, what !

Ah, but you forget... I'm not affiliated with your organisation. I'm a third party. smiley - biggrin etiquette doesn't apply. smiley - biggrin

But if you've been offended, I apologise. Honour and dignity, I hope, are at all times preserved. smiley - smiley

smiley - biggrin I'm not offended Njan - it was just a bit of banter. I'm not really enemies with anyone nor do I wish to be (except in fun that is) but an ettiquette of war should exist - perhaps based on that prevailing between WWI air Aces for example - a sort of chivalric deal.

Still you are very generous and for that I thank you smiley - winkeye

Good, good. I hadn't thought you were.. I'm glad I was right. smiley - biggrin.. maybe not so much an etiquette, as a pattern of behaviour deriving from mutual respect? That way, people'd concentrate less on rules and axioms, and more on being nice?

You're quite welcome. smiley - smiley

Ahh, I thing we're in agreement and you have touched on an important part of the spin on continuity that both Uncle Heavy and I have laboured long and hard to achieve with (as yet) not totally satisfactory results.

You see we believe that strictly following the LoC as propogated by Redbeard and Yar K ends up in a chess game type of approach - you move but can't take any risks by describing the outcome of your actions then I move reacting to that and doing something in return .... all of which goes along way to making it very plodding and drawn out.

We believe that to keep things rolling along you need to take a chance by assuming how the opponent would react on the basis of being sympathetic with their character. Obviously the more you play together the more you understand, therefore the greater the trust and the more risks you can take as a consequence. This should all add up to better game play.
