Well this conversation went a little weird for a second or three. But I have to admit that Wargamer's way got the problem noticed. Kudos.

That sounds very much like an 'ends justifies the means' argument so I am perhaps not entirely surprised that such boorish behaviour escapes censure. No kudos goes to Wargamer for the behaviour shown reveals something a little ugly and unpleasant.
This greatly saddens me because we are not at war with anyone really

You misunderstand. I'm just glad that the argument was settled without bloodshed. I give kudos to anybody actually involved, which is not me, and I just like the word kudos. Kudos.

wargamer was not involved in a resolution - he caused unpleasantry by his unnecessary manner. He deserves no kudos. This is my last word on this matter and for me it finishes here.

Would an official apology by me make you feel better?

Red (and a bit grey) Dog Posted Apr 9, 2002
That is kind of you Draco but I don't believe you can be responsible for the actions of others. I don't feel very good about what went on and I guess I am still very much perplexed by the aggression shown - we didn't want to fight but wargamer obviously did .

Maybe I should look in here?
Okay. Let's see... I'll try to take in the backlog and sort something out. That way everyone's happy and there's no grudges, k?
Firstly, 'ends justifies the means', or Exitus Acta Probat, are the very words I live by, so Kudos there.
Secondly, I was having a /really/ bad day (I'm certainly not going into it here, but general, hard to live with, pressure and a mild depression were involved. When I get upset or depressed, I get angry at everyone else). I know it wasn't right, but when the volcano erupts, you can't predict the lava flow... Minus a whole lotta' Kudos there.
Thirdly, I don't like dogs. I was always terrified of them when I was little (y'know the way they run upto you and bark at you? When they're bigger than you are, that's b****y scary!). As I got older, I became both physically and mentally able to fight back. Literally. That and the point above is not a good combination.
Fourthly, I don't think my language (except for one occasion) was offencive. It was more aimed for 'unfeeling', but I see why you could have been offended.
I think that's it. So, to all involved, I'm sorry. To err is human, and I'm atheist, so there's no way out of it!
My most sincere apologies to you and your organisaton.

Red Is incommunicado now, and has been on the move for some time. He didn't respond to your first post because he didn't see it. Therein lies the misunderstanding.

Weeell they're playing both sides at the moment. We don't contract with them but they have taken an assignment from the Borg to assist with their assimilation plans .... all except Captain Venom who has declined and as I result I think he has been suspended from the Mercs for putting principle before monetary gain.

As usual, a concise and accurate summary, Mr. Red Dog. *njan smiles*

(although, as an aside, we're not hired to assist with assimilations other than by protecting those who're doing the assimilating (ie. the borg). As a second aside, having originally been semi-officially working for the knights of h2g2, part of our hiring is in order to prevent our action against the cause of the borgs, which was deemed to be sufficiently threatening to the borg cause that remedial action (the hiring proper of the mercenaries) was deemed necessary. In addition, principles are quite acceptable, the main mercenarial objection to captain venom's declining of our assignment being that of a conflict of interest between his other activities and those of the mercenaries of which he is a part)
