Melbourne Meet 2004

Well, there's got to be one doesn't there? I know there are a few Melbournians around, some I've noticed not of 'legal' drinking age, so perhaps we can work out something to accommodate all before Christmas... what say you all? smiley - cheers

I would like a Kiwi met, but there don't appear to be any around were we are going - mid north island. My parents (i'm an ex kiwi, the aussies sucked half my brain out to make me into one of them, don't worry it only took 5 seconds)have a camper van so we are touring around, if you know any hootooers in that area let me knowsmiley - ok

Hmm... not sure... best idea would be to start a thread along the lines of "Any hootooers in mid-north island NZ?" and see what happens smiley - ok

Well, my calendar is becoming increasingly full between now and the end of the year (i'm becoming one of those people that "does things" - whoda thunkit smiley - laugh)

But I will definitely try to make it...even though I will probably say yes, turn up, see people, and run away again smiley - blushsmiley - laugh

Well, when would seem most suitable? Personally, I'm up for just about any time between now and then, with the exclusion of the weekend of the 10th-13th of December...

As far as Saturdays/Sundays go, I'm busy on 4, 11, 18, 19 and naturally 24, 25, and 31 of December.

Having said that, most of my engagements will be in the evening smiley - cheers...and that doesn't mean you can't plan it on a day I can't make it smiley - ok

Well, we usually do a Saturday afternoon/evening thing, but we've done a monday night before... with the low numbers, typically we can organise a time that everyone's happy with - though not always of course at this time of year. Besides the 10th-13th, I can do any day until the 23rd of December, depending on the time. What sort of thing do people want? Lunch, afternoon, dinner, evening, combination...? And where - traditionally it's a pub, but we could do it at a cafe, the beach, a park... I live right across the road from a pub, so I'd be willing to have some of it here and some of it there... we just have to organise it! smiley - ok

Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums

Hi y'all...
Even though I'm in Melbourne and I'd love to go to the meet, I don't think I'd be able to. I'm fifteen years old and I'm not sure what my parents would say about it...
And I think you'd probably like it better if you (however many there are of you going to this thing) could meet in a pub and drink alcohol and all that without any annoying minors tagging along (a.k.a. me...).

Sorry...smiley - wah

We could always do a cafe thing in the afternoon if you wanted to come, Midnight Ice smiley - ok

The pubs will always be there smiley - winkeye

(tell your Mum I'll look after you, I'm very dependable smiley - angel)

Well, I can ask, but she'll probably say no.
I'll need a date and time and everything too...

I can always try to bring my 16 year old brother, if she will be worried about you hanging out with kids older than you.

Otherwise, I can get my parish priest to write a letter about how lovely I am smiley - biggrin

smiley - laugh

(I actually could...that's the funniest bit smiley - roflsmiley - rofl)

Yeah, there's no dramas about doing something in the afternoon and then retiring to a pub later... the last meet we had started in a pub, but having a meal, which would be okay for you - we could start in a cafe, or a park, or whatever sort of open, public, non-threatening sort of place seemed most appropriate, then move on to a pub later... we're generally happy about being pretty fluid smiley - smiley As for dates... if we're going to do afternoon, weekends are probably better... okay, I'll put up the first one for debate - how about Saturday the 4th of December, starting at, oh, I don't know, 4ish?

smiley - doh Or, since tanzen's busy on the 4th, how about Sunday the 5th? That way there's even less likelihood of drunken debauchery, what with work the next day... smiley - ok

I think I will leave the dates for you guys to decide...Saturdays I can make afternoons but not nights anyway...unfortunately you've caught me in a veyr busy time...smiley - erm

I think pre-Christmas is *everyones* busy time... and yet that's always when we schedule them for... maybe it's got something to do with hootooers being buried in the virtual world and forgetting about the practicalities of rl... smiley - winkeye
