Giant incomprehending huh? What was all *that* about? I am missing something major - dead , yellow bubbles, backing out of? Maybe I am too old...

Hi Linus,
Save yourself the bother, you won't find Loony in the b'log, apart from perhaps somewhere in the 1st 40 or so posts...
Seen neither hide nor hair of him *anywhere* for months now

I know someone emailed him about a guide entry a little while ago (I was lurking in PR ) and he responded, so he's out there somewhere, just not on here

Does anyone else find it ironic that the italics announced ( F55683?thread=230988 ) the release of a guide to Netiquette on h2g2 ( A901838 ) in the same week that they started a thread called *The h2g2 Smileys - Winter Collection 2002* ( F77636?thread=231012 ) ...
They acknowledge that we don't all live in Blighty ( << ... Researchers in other time zones can and will take longer to reply >> ) but for sake, it ain't winter everywhere guys!

Six 7s, maybe I am just less tolerant of cold, but I can certainly believe it's closer to winter than summer here right now (Auckland)I haven't seen shine for two weeks, we've had cold and rain, and I have taken my old Scottish mother's advice about not 'casting a clout' to extremes. I still wear jumpers, jackets and jeans everywhere and only occasionally regret it. (I have a lovely spaghetti-strapped sundress that hasn't seen daylight since the late '80s. I am wearing my green Indian cotton hippie cosmica rama dress today, and shivering without a cardigan..It's December 21st today, *what* *gives*?)
Oh well, and rry eyed surprise to all!
(Apparition, x sleeps til what? You don't mean Xmas..)

I totally agree - *where* is the smiley?! Where is the smiley?! Where is the smiley?! I'm getting sick of this assumption that everyone is from the northern hemisphere.
35 degrees here today - it's definately not winter!

$&%%%$*^& You lucky Aussies! We've got the second sunny day for goodness knows how long, and it's *just* warm enough for a dress, and I was able to wear a thick jacket yesterday, while walking miles. *We* aren't having summer, no matter what youse guys are experiencing!!!
Mind, we're not having min-max temps of 0-5 degrees either, so 'mustn't complain' as my aged mother would say. No,really, I mustn't - or I'll be tempting fate (as she would also say).
Tomorrow will be Christmas, so I wish y'all all the best and lots of
