A Conversation for Ozark Tax Plan

Oops I was implying that you can only fund your other tax breaks by bunny stealth tax.
Do I have any evidence for that? No. Just a hunch

Trin, Trin, Trin.
Hyp and I are both policy wonks. We see no reason why we can't end the tax and maintain the budget. We just have to cut some of the pork that crept into the budget once we lost an active President (cabinet pet projects and all).
I mean, do we really need a 200 foot marble monument to thread one million? Surely a 100 foot granite acknowledgement will do just as well.

>>do we really need a 200 foot marble monument to thread one million?<<
Who's been pledging that? That does show a certain degree of flair

J Posted Sep 20, 2005
No That's the pork in our budget that we intend to cut.
The main problem I feel we can scale down a 200 foot monument is a numerical one. We can have a 200 foot monument for thread two million.
Headline defection? What's that mean?

Ah - I was teasing the Researcher Currently Known as Badger. Who seems to be causing a few problems now (A genuine mystery, as far as I can make out - 2legs really doesn't seem to know who he/she is)

It's like TiT and 2legs had a child Random entries crediting all sorts of researchers and, well, 2legsian forum behavior.
It's highly suspicious.

Well, Hypatia has just pointed out that if you try to take your name off the list for those picture pages, Badger sticks it right back on again. Croz is currently threatening to call off the entire thing if he/she (difficult to tell with badgers) doesn't start behaving.

>>You can tell pretty easily with badgers<<
Really?
I have badgers in my garden, you know.
(Well, I'm now down to one badger, in fact and he/she's only been once this summer. But last year I had tons of badgers And those are the highlights of my journal for the last two years )

You're a gardener? Hyp's an avid gardener. Another reason why switching over to us would be an easy transition. And it would
I can usually tell the sex of a dog or cat. I imagine it can't be much different with badgers. But then again... maybe it is

Trin Tragula Posted Sep 20, 2005
I have a fairly 'hands-off' approach to gardening The wilder it gets, the more encouraging that is to the badgers and they're my main priority (along with any other wildlife that appreciates the fuzzier side of unkempt gardens).
So, if Hypatia's pushing a heavy gardening line, I'm afraid that's another sticking-point, in fact
I'm sure a competent naturalist could tell the difference, but I can't. Last year's most regular visitors were a mother and three little ones, so I at least knew the gender of one badger. Beyond that, I'm lost - but they're all equally exciting

Nope Gardening is supposed to be fun though.
Well, we're trying to protect the little exciting things. Our badger poverty initiative is unmatched!

Trin Tragula Posted Sep 20, 2005
I think you'll get cross-party support for that
(Unless you insist on something wearisome like "we thought of it first, get your own policies")

J Posted Sep 20, 2005
You can get your own badger poverty initiative if you like. We believe our plan is the best possible one, though
Support for fun? We are Pro-Fun. Unlike some campaigns...

We are soft-pedalling on the 'fun thing', I admit it, but only because it is an area where 2legs seems likely to have everyone on toast (yes, including the Ozark Gargantua).
Although, at this stage, it may be the only such area

J Posted Sep 20, 2005
I don't know if 2legs has everyone beat. Have you ever read some of Gnomon's physics entries? Wild and crazy stuff!
If the Ozark campaign is steaming ahead quickly, it's only because our candidate would make the best President

I know, I know *sigh* But since when did being the best person for the job affect the outcome of an election?
I'm backing Reddyfreddy *because* he's bound to have his off days. I'm looking forward to them.

Trin Tragula, you must have missed my series in the Post about natural habitats. Otherwise you woud be familiar with my attempts to get people to return their gardens to nature.
Your cake looks nice. I'm sure your friends will enjoy it.

It starts now. It starts when you elect a poet warrior... a crusading librarian to office. When we begin hootoo's golden age by nobly looking back at the past for the route into future prosperity. When we begin to put our leaders on a higher moral plane. When we make a concerted effort to let our better angels defeat the demons and darkness that have held us back for so long.
Hyp will have her off-days. Believe me. I've been in near-constant communication with her for... around two years, and she has had some off-days
Looking forward to off-days seems like an odd reason to back a candidate.
