I find it hard to believe that you're going to raise all the revenue you're going to need (yachts, , s etc.) just from this
Do you think the voters are really going to believe it?

I'm very wealthy The yachts, cake and ponies of the campaign will be paid for by me and a few grants from some fine non-profit organizations and some individuals. ('Buckeyes for Ozark', 'Ozarks for Buckeye' and George Soros)
We'd never mix campaign expenditures with budget expenditures I have made that distinction.

So a vote for Hypatia is a vote for big handouts from various philanthropists? Where's the challenge? How are you going to encourage growth, if everyone's just lounging around on their yachts, feeding their s with ?
(Can you get waterwings for the s?)

I don't understand. How would not giving 'incentives' encourage growth? For that matter, when has anyone around here (besides myself and H) been known to do anything but lounge around and eat cake?
I shall not impede this. I shall let them eat

People should be encouraged to make their own cake. Or at least buy it. Or steal it, if they're really hungry.
It's all a bit 'Brave New World' - everyone lying there eating cake.

Hyp is an excellent cook. She'll make you some cake.
We frown on stealing. We have an army of our own, you know.

Trin Tragula Posted Sep 19, 2005
So I see. Er ... what do you need an army for?
(And when I say 'stealing', I just mean a sensible redistribution of cake resources in situations of dire inequality. More Robin Hood than just straightforward hood).
I'm sure Hyp's cake is delicious
I am going to put my money where my mouth is, however and try to make some of my own.

For thieves and to keep 2legs and the badgers in line once we're elected
Wealth Redistribution? Is that really how you want to frame your campaign?
We're more laissez-faire about the whole thing. Minimal taxes that won't begin for 30 years and a laid back way of looking at the cake economy.
While we intend to repeal the tax, the RF campaign intends to steal the already taxed cake from those who paid your egregious tax and give it to someone else?
This is why I can't help you guy. Just terrible stances on the issues... *shakes head* Sometimes, I don't know...

Nobody's going to need to steal anything once I've got these cakes ready
Hmmm. They're a bit runny
Keeping 2legs and the badgers in line - that's a wee bit sinister, isn't it? I mean, they're not doing any harm - they're just not up to running the place, that's all.
Don't militarily oppress the badgers!

J Posted Sep 19, 2005
Oppress? Nah. Just to enforce the Magna Hoota Carta we shall force him to sign. It doesn't do anything to oppress. It does help make us more democratic.
That's alright by you RF folks, right? I mean, you don't hate democracy?

Trin Tragula Posted Sep 19, 2005
Yes, that's right, I hate democracy almost as much as I hate bunnies and I have a communist called Bob in my wardrobe ...
Purlease Such tactics are beneath you
's ready! Want some?

Oh, that quote's a keeper
You're right. Such tactics are beneath me. But the results aren't That cake had better be downright delicious or that quote's going up on our page.
(what can I say? It's the pirate in me coming out today...)

You're more than welcome to the quote. We'll have the anti-democrats, bunny-haters and communists coming over to us in droves
And you're welcome to the too. Though it's still a bit runny.

I think that the only anti-democrat bunny hating communists around here is... well, 2legs. But only because he takes both sides of every issue. You're more than welcome to bunny haters though. I don't want 'em.

No, nor me. I love bunnies
I'm going to have to pop off in a minute - RL is going to be intruding pretty heavily into my electioneering time too this week.
But it should give me plenty of time to consider the possible uses of your characterisation of 2legs as an 'anti-democrat bunny-hating communist' ("Jodan in Character Assassination Shocker!")
Unless we can agree to keep such behind-the-scenes political to-and-fro between ourselves?

Behind the scenes? As far as I'm concerned, this is an important part of the debate on our Tax Plan.
I can see a great 30 second ad coming out of this... "she was for bunnies, before she was against them."

Trin Tragula Posted Sep 19, 2005
I can see bunnies becoming quite a central feature of the campaign.
Which doesn't mean that the flim-flam of accusations of bunny-hating (i have always loved bunnies) is going to distract the voters from your intention to tax them to the hilt.
Poor bunnies.

Take a look at our tax plan again. I'll wager that most of our voters will have died of natural causes, have left the site or OD'd on something or other by the time the tax comes into effect. We're going to abolish the unfair cake tax NOW! is a heavily used smiley - it will relieve the tax burden greatly.
We're lowering taxes.
