The Lighthouse Balcony

Post 1

Lighthousegirl - back on board

Located directly opposite the bar of the Lighthouse bar, a pair of large double doors lead to the Lighthouse Balcony.

The balcony offers a place for freinds to come and chat, sipping their beverage of choice, atching the day and the wavves go by. Ieal for watching the sunrise (if you have not been to bed yet) as well as for watching the sunset at the start of a relaxing evening. In between the panarmic views of the stars add to the chilled atmosphere. During the day you can sit and watch the waves go by and the local sealife and scapes unfolding their drama.

On the balcony are a selection of deck chairs and a wonderful four seater swinging chair (complete with the table in the middle and the surrey with a fringe on top)

In the corner is a bar-b-q and a bell to summon a cabin boy to cook for you. A cupboard contains sun block, souwesters and blankets so the balcony can be enjoyed whatever the weather ...

Light and Alec are sat together on the swing chair

Alec this was a wonderful idea ...

It has been way too long!

There have been many adventures - some of which I will no doubt forget!

Life in smiley - choc land is OK - involved in a v big project at the moment - good stuff but extra long hours and sometimes very frustratiing indeed. However it cant all be fun smiley - erm

On a happier note lots of fun non work stuff ...

I used to do a lot of stage management while at 6th form and loved it. The man who makes the smiley - lighthouse light shine extra bright (no not the window cleaner!) does a lot of acting and recently I was asked to help out backstage - I had a ball smiley - wow He was Dick Barton Special Agent - in the play of the same name. The run was a two weekends and the week in the middle and I was able to help both Thursdays - Saturdays inclusive. I remember just how much I enjoyed it and hope to be able to do some more

We also got involved in the national 48 hour film challange - you get given a title and a gendre and 48 hours to produce a 5 min film. Bit of a giggle and we are waiting to hear the results.

Went to a wedding - that was nice.

Had a good time on my birthday - a whole group of us went to a club in Birmingham owned by Jooles Holland and saw a band called Rice who were excellent. You mentioned birthdays - what did you do for yours? 42 is quite a good age smiley - smiley

Since then I have been away - went to Scotland to see friends (and my Godson and his 4mth old twin sisters) and of course my favourite smiley - lighthouse. It was nice to get away from work for a few days. I then spent a happy day in the departure lounge at Inverness Airport. Dont know if you have ever been there but really it more like a boarding gate and while I had taken some reading material I had not planned on a 6 hour wait!

Eventually got to Gatwick and drove on down to Selsea to meet up with the man who makes the smiley - lighthouse light shine extra brightand his kids for a couple of days. Lovely time just enjoying hanging out and seeing the sea smiley - smiley

and there is more ...

On the way back called in and saw my parents and my sister and neice.

So busy!

Hmm I think I need a shorter name for the man who makes the smiley - lighthouse light shine extra bright (TMWMTLLSEB is still quite a mouthful)

Apart from that its been all work ...

So what has been keeping you busy?

How are the Trician family?

Theatre is such fun isn't it...
I've been involved with theatre sound and lighting since i was 18.
I started with an experimental group in Sheffield, doing ShakespearesMSND set to rock music. Ran sound and light at the theatre at Essex Uni,and toured as 'the roadie' with a theatre group called 'incubus' back in the seventies.

Now i'm much older than i was then, the voice has matured a bit, and i'm doing the occasional voice over/narration...good fun.

However,last year i played the part of a fr*nch gunslinger in a murdermysterytheatredinner thingy...had to sing...and dancesmiley - blush
but what a hootsmiley - laugh the little tricians have not looked at me the same since.

Sadly i spent my birthday with pneumonia and am still recovering, but that means i still have the party to look forward to.

You certainly had a busy time over the summer, family is triffic isn't it...i wish the tricians could get over there again soon, haven't seen the relations for many years now.

Wo*kwise i just finished a project that i have been doing for the last year, completely rewiring a beautiful 80ft.sailboat. In fact i think they are halfway across the pond as we speak...
So now i'm back to working for the usual multimillionaires with megayachts smiley - yawn

in fact, i have to go on a sea-trial tomorrow morning on one of those 120ft. fast pointy white things, burn up and down the coast for a few hours, check the instruments etc. so i'd best crawl off to my cabin as i have an early start.
If you see us go past, i'm the one in the yellow earmuffs, wearing the lifejacket, carrying a fire extinguisher and waving my towel.

* wakes up with a start *

Party soon you say! Brithdays should definitely be stretched out to last a little longer - why do it all on one day when several will do! So when was the actual day?

Your thespian exploits certainly sound fun smiley - smiley Several interesting sounding shows in there. What part did you pla in the murder thingy? I have been trying to decide in my mind - were you a comic who made everyone laugh so much they burst smiley - erm Or were you the dashing hero of the piece?

How did you get into voice overs and narrations?

Life ofr me continues to be very hectic - big project at work getting critical and I have been pulling 60-70 hour weeks and travelling between Brum and London with amazing regularity. Even had a meeting about 12 miles from home but was not able to get here smiley - sadface Still I am here now smiley - smiley Best of all just 5 more work days and then I am on holiday for a couple of weeks.

We are going to Turkey - near Bodrum. The place we are staying has lots of watersports which really excites TMWMTLLSEB. I love the sea but dont swim so am less sure about learning to dive!!!! I am looking forward to two weeks of being in one place, reading, relaxing, being warm and having fun smiley - wow

You certainly had a busy time over the summer, family is triffic isn't it...i wish the tricians could get over there again soon, haven't seen the relations for many years now.

It must be great to live and work by the sea. How did all the sea trials go?

* sips her drink *
