The Crow's Nest
shagbark Posted Nov 3, 2001
*shagbark awakes* My what a strange dream. By the position of the sun I see I have been here several hours. I guess I will get back to parts unknown. He rises , stretches and climbs down to the deck.

*A whale swims up to the ship, balancing a pot of on its tail. It does a casual flip of its tail and the coffeepot, saucers and cups go spinning in a perfect arc through the air and land with a clatter in the Crow's Nest. The whale executes two lovely backflips, spouts a geyser of water, and waves a flipper before swimming off.*
*Looks at Shagbark sleeping... *
You won't believe this when you wake up...

You are absolutely right, mari-rae. That *is* amazing! That is the first time that whale has served coffee - without cognac!!!

***Shagbark appears suddenly.
And to think, I almost slept through it.So what is happening in the crows nest today?

it's hard being a man of mystery on this ship, nobody seems to notice my disappearances.
*Shagbark opens the dumb waiter, closes it behind him and is gone.*

Shagbark appears cautiously. He climbs into the crows nest.
"good evening all. I may have to stay out of the Lighthouse bar for a while as one of my jokes went bad. Let me explain. I had brought a potted palm and waited for someone to remark that it was drunk but nobody did. So after a couple days I watered it with a mixture containing rum. St Hatifnat had a fit(ref post 2011-2015)SAYING i HURT THE POOR PALM and it wasn't good for the rum either. The captain chipped in to call it rum abuse. I'm sure he will forget about it quickly but I'm not so sure about her. I hope she doesn't have a cutlass handy next time I run in to her. So can I hide out here a bit?"

Certainly! You can help us plan a party on account of Average Joe is becoming 21 next week. !
If Hati or the Captain come around we'll put them into a silly party hat. Its difficult to stay angry when you are wearing one of those.
Have a ? Joe? *Opens dumbwaiter, and waits for Shagbark's and Joe's orders expectantly...*

I know that you can have lots of exciting things happen here.
Just a thought for the party maybe you could start it by having
Mr Yossarian fire a twenty-one cannon salute. then when the captain shows up to see what we are firing at you hand him a party hat and a drink.

One more thought, You might want to make sure you send the food order to the galley not the bridge. If you call the wrong place that will tip off the captain early.
