In the US, a person needs a special lisence to set off fireworks. There are only so many people who are thus qualified, and the towns hire them for the nights around July 4, technically Independance Day.
Get it?

Got it.. although here.. we just go buy fireworks and set them off all over the place.. usually on or around 5th November ( Guy Fawkes night). We have a big bonfire in the back garden and burn our "guy" ( Effigy of a man.. usually grandads old clothes stuffed with newspaper) on the top of the fire, and everyone eats black jacket spuds nad raw burgers smiley - smiley

In the NorthEast, and in most of the country, buying fireworks and burning effegies is illegal because of fire safety regulations.

Oh, and I hear you only have to be sixteen to buy cigarettes in the UK, which is, even though I find smoking a filthy habit, incredable.

Yep.. only 16 for ciggies.. which is pretty foul when you see teenagers walking around smoking because they think it looks "cool".. and 18 for alcohol. We like to get our lager louts in training at a young and tender age!!
17 to drive.. 18 to vote.. 16 to legally have children!! Who on earth worked that lot out!!??

Well, no one seems all that interested in the game at this point, so now we're comparing cultures of the US and the UK. Join us, won't you?
There's another thing: delivering questions backwards. ex "What can I do you for?"

But we should start talking Blind Man's Buff again.
Anyone?

Depending on the sort of people you are playing the game with..or where you may have just come from.. ie.. If you've just come in hot and sweaty from a late night disco smiley - smiley
Then there's always the chance that you can smell who you've caught!!
Sobering thought..

..just back from me hols.. went to a Holiday camp ( yes really!) where they played silly games at the club in the evening.. but alas no Blind mans Buff.. although there was a Donkey Derby in which I participated, in the backwards riding race!! Very strange way to Ride a donkey.. it involved sort of lying along the Donkeys back, with your legs gripped around its neck, and your arms around its middle.. very elegant!!

Think of it this way: When your children have children of their own, you can tell the grandkids about all the embarrassing things their parents did.
