Ormondroyd Posted Jun 2, 2001
I can't think of one good reason why there shouldn't be one, broelan! Let's get militant, shall we?
WHAT DO WE WANT? A TEA SMILEY!
WHEN DO WE WANT IT? ASAP!

I'm not sure this site would be quite like the guide un less you could'nt get a decent cup of tea...
"you mean you want a bag of litte dried up leaves in water? -the computer in the heart of gold
what we need is the "little drink which tases almost entirely unlike tea" smiley
or the "share and enjoy" smiley
TEA!
Ormondroyd Posted Jun 3, 2001
All of us who live in the tea-drinking nations are used to being served strange plastic cups of a brown liquid that is allegedly tea but doesn't taste much like it. However, this substance is still referred to as "tea". So I think that the smiley should be regarded as encompassing both a delicious cup of Earl Grey and a cup of noxious boiling chemicals masquerading as tea.
After all, stands for both fresh-ground coffee heaven and cheap instant powdered hell, doesn't it?

In the "Sweetly Perfumed Cafe" - formerly known as the Aroma Cafe - on h2g2 we use "c)_(" to stand for a cup of tea.

There should be a smiley to go with it..
and how about an which generates a random and improbable different smiley each time?
TEA!
broelan Posted Jun 3, 2001
that would be nifty, but i can't think of what you would use it for. if you were on a subject and generated an improbable smiley you might get a smiley when you were trying to tell a joke.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Jun 3, 2001
That's a very good improvised smiley BB At The Procrastinator's Society we use cO~ for a teapot . If you haven't already done so, you really should hook up with Minesweep Goddess (aka The Mad Forum Artist). For all I know, it might even have been her who came up with c)_(
