Thanks Stephen! I'll update it all later!
I'll sign you up when I get home Jimi X! And welcome!
That's funny, because I've had people argue that Maryland should be included in the NE USA, and you're saying Pennsylvania is a Mid-Atlantic state! Would you know what the Mid-Atlantic states are?

I think Mid-Atlantic includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Del-Mar-Va.
Maryland is a southern state for sure - it's south of the Mason-Dixon Line isn't it?

New Jersey? In NY, we consider NJ part of the "tri-state area" ...

What's the third state in the tri-state area?
Pa. or Conn.?
Why is this country so big that we need to make these regional distinctions?

We don't make the regional distinctions, the regional distinctiond made themselves over years of unco-operation. According to my father, Maryland is the South, but NJ, DL, and PA are not Northeast, but I dessagree because their is no MisPacific. So why is there a Mid Atlantic? Who knows. All I know is that the states north of Mason-Dixon and east of the mid-west should be considered North-Easterly. Is there a Southern Researchers Group? Ask them what they consider Not-South.

there are groups for all the states, northeast, southeast, central, northwest and southwest. i didn't *argue* that maryland should be considered *northern*, i just thought it fit better geographically with your group (that, and i accidentally highlighted it with the northeast group on my u.s. map). and the southeastern group is *so large*, i figured they didn't really need another state
here are all the groups:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/a565940 is the northeastern group including connecticut, delaware, maine, massachusettes, new hampshire, new joisey, new yawk, pennsylvania, rhode island, and vermont (but you all knew that )
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/a479225 is the southeastern group including alabama, arkansas, florida, georgia, kentucky, louisiana, mississippi, north carolina, oklahoma, south carolina, tennessee, texas, virginia, and west virginia.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/a595163 is the central group including illinois, indiana, iowa, kansas, michigan, minnesota, missouri, nebraska, north dakota, ohio, south dakota, and wisconsin.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/a537428 is the northwestern group including alaska, idaho, montana, oregon, washington, and wyoming.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/a594902 is the southwestern group includingarizona, california, colorado, nevada, new mexico, and utah.
so, unless you live in hawaii you're covered.

Do we know any researchers from Maryland that could chose which side to be on?
