Certains lines/ideas are considered sufficiently familiar in my household as to be inserted into conversation without credit:
"locked filing cabinet...beware of the leopard" for any difficult to find thing - but often bureaucracy
"it's easier to remove something than make it invisable" - taking a shortcut rather than doing an awkward job
Somebody Else's Problem Field - 'nuff said
"Hand me the Raprod Plate Captain"
"Looks like a fish, moves like a fish, steers like a cow"
Any long list of qwuestions is ended with "...and do you have any of those biscuits, do you know, the cheesy ones?"
...and it's always pronounced "Jeenan Toe-nix"
I'll think of more on the way home!

"This was a mind that was not merely Twisted, but actually Sprained...."
Any others....hmmmm?
"Looks like a fish , moves like a fish , steers like a cow "
"I found them in the basement eventually.
"Oh yes that's the display department."
"The light had gone."
"...um"
"So had the stairs!"
"But you DID find the plans?"
"Yes, eventually, they were in the bottom drawer of a locked filing cabinet, stuck upside-down, in a disused toilet with a sign on the dorr saying 'BEWARE OF THE LEOPARD!....' "
"LIFE Don't ask ME about LIFE!!"
oh! and of course...
"I never could get the hang of Thursdays...."

I'm for the beware of the lepoard quote, one of my personal favorites, also when Ford persuades Mr Prosser that he wants to lie down in the mud!
In the airlock, "hang on there this button......... no only joking" (or something similar)
Arthurs inability ever to find anything even remotely like tea!
fave characters - Arthur and Ford (they have some of the best lines)
Fave supporting characters: The whale, the doors on the heart of gold, the cow in rateotu, Arthurs kid (name escapes me at the moe)

My non-Marvin favorites:
"It's not so much an afterlife as an apres-vie."
"So long, and thanks for all the fish." - A friend of mine had a college prof who wrote that quote on the black board on the last day of class. We thought it rather arrogant of him.
"The mice were very disappointed."
"We've met."
