Hey, D, I guess you are one of the best informed about Beatles matters, anything I should know as an update on stuff? I´ve not heard much about them around here latley... The last song I heard on the radio was "Lucy in the sky with diamonds"... But not even gossip got around to me somehow

this is fantastic, can I join the Ringo faciton? Octopus's Garden! Of cource, my personal fav is I am the Walrus. But I think Paul is more of a fallen angel, he should be the equivelent of lucifer, he's singing really bad stuff now, and the golden jubilee was just disgusting.

Well, son, you´ll have to join our Sister Dragonfly in that confession... There is a believer in Ringo you really have to count with...

I LOVE RINGO!!!... have you ever seen him in concert!???
As for.... new gossip, well... I have heard that Macca's kids don't like the new woman in his life, Heather, very much.
I have also heard that George Harrison will have a new cd out. He was recording it with his son Dhani. YEEEHAH!!!

Thank you for this testimony, Dragonfly. So let us all join into prayer when we hope for a sign from the Beatles and a new CD...

I recently re-read DNAs article that he wrote in The London Sunday Times on the occasion of Paul's 50th birthday - and it brought back to me the realisation that, regardless of where they are now, The Beatles were, and still are, the voice of a generation.
I remember my joy and amazement on first hearing them - and my obsession with them . The truly amazing thing is that my 14 year old niece is now also an avid fan. Their music seems to have gained a life of it's own - and lives on, and on, and on ...
Just had to share

I just heard on the news that Paul has cancelled his Australian concert "out of respect for the victims of Bali" - it would be interesting to find out how the bookings were going - or am I just a cynic?? Still ... there's lots of disappointed fans out there - I think it would have been nice if he'd done the concert and donated the proceeds to the Bali Appeal (more cynicism)

You cannot expect too much charity from the rich and the famous, can you? I could do with a donation now and then too well... yes
We could start a discussion about the question if the Beatles are an entity in itself, or actually connected with the people who used to be involved in the band... like: What to do with good music, if bandmembers do bulls**t or talk crap?

I think it's the music that matters - the behaviour of artists shouldn't change their music - it's been going on for centuries - look at Wagner - for all his politics his music still inspires great emotions. Though, I must admit that I would probably exclude Oasis from this - but mostly on the basis that they don't have too much to offer musically or personally

I just wish that some would know when to stop though - the thought of a 60 year old Jagger prancing about on stage is frightening
