U290 = Mina, still a member of BBCi/dna staff and until very recently one of the more visible members of the h2g2 <./>Team</.>. Although no longer officially in charge of sections of h2g2, she is still involved in related sites and has similar powers (access to special site software tools). I don't know whether the move counts as a promotion or demotion or merely a side-step. I also don't know whether you would class the position as a top one.

The U94986 account was spending some time as Ideno after previously being more obviously the "poacher turned game-warden" (as someone once said).

Various members of staff and other researchers have more than one identity. Sometimes this is for historical reasons but other times it is to allow them to come into a thread anonymously and be nasty without any consequences for their official account. It has been seen on many occasions that a new account suddenly appears and posts in just a few contentious places. This thread has already been pointed out as an example. This could even be the behaviour which a certain banned researcher is mocking. It is rather hard to tell what the true motivation there is though.

you cant be bothered to read all this rubbish? another unexpected comment from a member of staff/mod, (i might have that wrong admittedly though i at least am trying to give you the courtesy you expect from everybody else here), i would think you would show some sort of professionalism but you seem to be very hostile in your posts..perhaps you are unhappy because SEF has exposed you for not being completely honest? this doesnt get me off at all, i have been attacked from all sides for this thread but i have tried, when i havent been yikesed in the process!, to answer all posts honestly, the aces in question might deny it, their pals might back them up, the staff might show no interest whatsoever but i dont think anyone has called me a liar AND proved it to be the case cos right is right and lies always come back to haunt us, unless of course theres a great big cover-up of course and aces going on a mission to unsubscribe from anything dodgy..pointing fingers is all ive seen in this thread but nobody even when proven otherwise seems willing to hold their hand up and say 'ok, i was wrong' or 'i made a mistake, an error of judgement, im sorry' not 1 of you..it would appear easier to go off on 1

L.G., I don't think the WatchDog programme is quite the right one.

It is quite clear that they don't want to answer some points or emails (certainly not honestly!). However, that does not actually require a conspiracy. Individual people can choose to do their job properly or not. They may display bias in the form of misguided loyalty even if they know something to be wrong without actively having to conspire. Think about it - you don't necessarily ask your friend's permission to back them up or act on their behalf.

Note also that it is not always going to be the case that all members of staff have a say in moderation decisions. I know of at least one case where a member of staff made it clear they could not (despite appearing to disagree). As well as the occasions where multiple people could know about something and might disagree there will be the ones where they are unlikely to even hear about it - if emails about moderation or being unable to connect go to a particular account and are dealt with by one person. Even if the account is a joint one, eg U284, that doesn't mean that other users of it will check back over any actions it has taken.

however, to be serious here though im surprised at the Sub Editor (Mina), Ideno and now a Researcher numbers attitude in all this, my issues, though it obviously includes some staff, thats evident from the lies told/exposed on this thread, still lie with some aces and i cant see them holding there hands up and admitting/appologising for what they have done/rules they have broken

Getting back to the topic then,

U290 / U94986 was also an ACE (until a couple of weeks ago - I eventually found an explanation on F35977?thread=346728). So her behaviour during all the rest of the time on site was also relevant to this thread as well as being much worse for being a member of staff.

yes that is clear but what are the ramifications of this? i mean the staff dont appear to be concerned so im concluding that Mina's actions/behaviour in this thread or otherwise is acceptable therefore knowing and proving somebody who holds a responsible position has behaved in an appropriate manner on this site means nothing.....??
and as Localised Girl stated previously, if the staff behave like this why should we be surprised at the actions of 'some' of the aces?
