A good way "to defend[your]right to[your]own opinion" is to be in full possession of the facts and aware of the current state of the dialectic so that you are ready for such onslaughts. You could have another URL open, for instance, to check for factual inconsistancies.
A dynamite thing you could say to him/her would be "Let's agree to disagree."

Facts and opinions are different things by my mind. People can feel very differently about the same fact.
The issue here is *how* to express the opinion without hurting other people's feelings. And what to do if the harm was done intentionally. Sending somebody to Samaritians, if you feel they hurt you intentionally is quite a good idea, though.
