Inspired by a conversation in a forum on the oposite of "thirsty". What is the speed of dark?

Interesting. Could you defend a speeding charge by claiming that the value recorded by the police radar was actually the speed of the absence of ones car, and that, since the absence of one's car includes everything else, your relative speed was zero? And (not only that) but, since the absence of one's car is persistently there wherever one doesn't go, stalking charges should be laid against everyone?

You probably already know - but this is something that Terry Pratchett speculates about in his books - he reckoned the speed of dark is greater than the speed of light, since it always manages to get out the way...
{which isn't that high in a world with a high magical field, of course}

That depends on how I feel.
How I feel is related to the restrictions placed on my freedom to "exhist" in side h2g2.
The restrictions on my freedom are imposed by the BBC.
So, I 'spose you' better ask them.
(I'd like to be able to air my political opinions in here, as well as relegious ones, and maybe a few scientific ones. I'd like to be able to sm*ke a virtual j*int and chat about the way of the world. I'd like to put a picture of me in "my space" [a name which I find ironic because it can't reflect me at all]. I'd like to be able to sing Happy Birthday without finding out who owns the copyright and crediting them (well I can but I just can't type the words). I'd like to go home.)

Understood - I guess we'll see how the situation continues to evolve. Give us a bell if you decide your complaints and criticisms have been answered and are undeleting the post.

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Xanthia,
Happy birthday to you.
I'm a liberal democrat, weak atheist, who reckons that astronomy is overrated and the way of the world is often pretty twisty - you?

Blimey. Can't see any scope for an offensive reply to anything above this point. I wonder what terrible thing the mystery poster of message 16 said to upset the censors.
Sorry you deleted the entry Dr Lithium. It was brill. May it rest in peace until sanity is restored.

Move it anywhere you want. As far as I knew the thread then, yesterday, it appears again. You have my permission (not that you need it) to move it to Hades.
But I wouldn't mind knowing what got deleted by the mods. Up 'till now this was one of the most innofensive threads I've seen.

I'm having that missing words problem again.
