well yes....
Only really really evil people actually go to hell...
the lowest leval of heaven is still paradice in comparason to earth
and the highest or celestial kingdom is where God lives

Hello Dr.Anthea,
I've been away for a while from this thread on a mental pilgrimage and return to find you proselytising. Well done that woman!
Question: Please define 'evil' in the terms of the Church of the Latter Day Saints?
I think it would be illuminating to know from either the New Testament or the Book of Mormon, or indeed both, who falls into the category of 'evil' and thus deserves and eternity in Hell.
Blessings,
Matholwch the Apostate .

Evil, those who know of the spirit of the lord yet still deny him
those who have had miricals performed on there behalf and still blasphemed
People who kill the innocent in cold blood
People who try to take away another persons claim to heven
anyone who trys to destroy or taint innocence by perversion
and a few other things as well...
I think you probably get the general jist of things
the latter day saints do not preach that you must be a member to get into heven just that it helps
persnally i beleve that as long as you are true to whatever faith you have chosen and dont start putting your own spin on it or complicating it and living by the principles and preceps without killing anyone or causing them pain phyical or mental then you pritty much have a foot in the door

"taint innocence by perversion" is a little vague don't you think? Could cover all sorts.

Hi Dr.Anthea ,
Thanks for the clarification.
"persnally i beleve that as long as you are true to whatever faith you have chosen and dont start putting your own spin on it or complicating it and living by the principles and preceps without killing anyone or causing them pain phyical or mental then you pritty much have a foot in the door"
Hmmm... isn't this covered by:
"those who know of the spirit of the lord yet still deny him"?
Or are you defining being "true to whatever faith you have chosen" as being true to one or another Christian faction?
I think it unfair for you to tell me so much without me revealing a little of myself. I am a practicing pagan Druid, based in wet Wales and thirty years on my path.
I don't kill, or steal, or covet my neighbour's possessions. I respect my father and mother in all things. I try to live my life well, giving to each the dignity they deserve and following the druidc principles of fairness and right action.
However, I expect I would earn a place in Hell simply by denying Christ, but also through 'trying to take away another person's claim to heaven' by discussing the many inconsistencies and errancies in the Christian faith with them.
So I am allowed free will by your God, but not freedom of choice or speech, for by either I am condemned.
Tell me, good doctor, what is your Church's position on unbaptised infants who die before they can be brought to Christ? What is their fate?
Blessings,
Matholwch the Apostate .

unbaptised childeren go to heven
we dont even baptise childeren till the age of eight
when the young boys are expected to prepair to receve the preasthood
the LDS preasthood being very different to that of other churches
and yes by the faith thing i ment people of any religion not nessessaraly a chirstian one, although i admit i know little of the world so perhaps there are exeptions i havent had the chance to come across yet,
Malthowch I beleve you know Jordan, he is a good friend of mine and has mentioned that you give a good discussion
I do not beleve that talking about faith and making people think is a bad thing, I beleve that if the person knows in there heart that there faith is true then it can do no harm to make them think a bit, and if it does then perhaps it was for the best, after all are we not all individuals what glove fits one hand may not fit another, we must all find what is right for us.
so I dont think you'll go to hell, but if its your choice to do so I wouldnt like to tell you otherwise...,
just know that at least in my mind, even druids who deny chirst have a place in paradice

Hi Anthea
A friend of Jordan huh? That's as good a recommendation as any - welcome!
You seem to have a very individual take on your faith and that is healthy. Keeping our minds open and our mouth closed is the key to learning.
However, be careful of those who tell you that 'you must have faith' when you ask the difficult questions. If they can't answer them then you need to find those that can, either inside your path or without. Truth must not be denied.
We have a saying in Wales - Yr Gwir Yn Erbyn Y Byd - The Truth Against the World.
Blessings and may your God go with you,

yes he's off in Coventry finishing uni with any luck
for some reason he feels guilty coming back because he worries people will give him into trouble for being away so long
I've always tryed to be open minded which can be difficult at times
we got something from "the watchtower" through the door the other day,
it now lines the cat litter tray
so I do draw lines sometimes...

Hi Pedro
Well spotted that chap! Yes I have retired the old Awen symbol /|\.
I am now sporting a natty third eye . Not a Tie Fighter as my dear wife put it.
It does represent a change though as I swim out of the shallow end of the pagan gene pool into clear, deep, moonlit waters. This Samhain saw a watershed moment - I finally let go of my father, and decided to commit to a group of friends who are beginning a truly magical journey of discovery.
Blessings,

Kingdom News No. 37, actually.
You didn't notice my, erm, deliberate mistake?
(You'd know because it would have kn37-E on the back, assuming you got the English language version.)

According to W.B.Yeats there's something called "heterodox mysticism" which embraces just about everything.
That must be the best one to join, mustn't it?

BouncyBitInTheMiddle Posted Dec 8, 2006
Kind of depends on whether you've had a mystical experience or not doesn't it? And whether you think that is the core of the religious experience?
Well don't look at me, I don't know.

well I think as long as you follow what is right in your heart and do no harm to others by it then some sort of paradise awaits for you...
unless you don't believe in that sort of thing that is

I wonder about that the fate of that disciple who sliced off a Roman soldier's ear when they came to arrest JC. Does the fact that JC stuck the ear back on absolve that nifty swordsman? What was he doing with a sword anyway? Presumably JC must have given the ok for arms to be carried?
